Jerry Seinfeld’s son just turned 20 – sit down before you see how much he looks like his father

There’s something oddly captivating about the offspring of A-listers.

I mean, it’s always fascinating to look at someone’s son or daughter and spot the similarities they share with their parents. But when their mother or father is a celebrated individual who has been on our movie/TV screens or airwaves for a prolonged period of time, it’s arguably even more interesting.

Off the top of my head I could name the children of a few stars who have matured into spitting images of their famous parents. Yet when it comes to iconic comedian Jerry Seinfeld, I’ll admit I missed the boat.

The Seinfeld legend shares three kids with long-time wife Jessica, and one of them, middle-child Julian, just turned 20. While that may be cause for celebration in the Seinfeld household, it’s the young man’s resemblance to his father that’s got a lot of people talking …

Jessica Seinfeld gave fans a rare glimpse of her son in a recent post to mark his 20th birthday, showing Julian relaxing in a pair of shades and holding a basketball.

“Happy 20th Birthday to @julianseinfeld! Your work ethic enables you to balance a heavy college course load with a job you love,” Jessica wrote on Instagram. “Your sharply tuned BS detector suffers not one fool. The moral high bar you set for those around you keeps us all in line. You chose your friends wisely, and treat them all like family.

She added: “You are such a phenomenal and gorgeous human being. Your goodness is greatness, especially in this world today. I love you, my sun.”

Jerry also wrote a heartwarming message for his oldest son, writing: “We love you so much, Jules. Happy Special Birthday this year!!”

According to Fox, Julian and his older sister Sascha Seinfield currently attend Duke University.

Though they’ve largely been kept away from the spotlight, in the past Jerry has spoken about his kids and the fact that they can be hard to draw laughs from, even for someone as well-versed in comedy as he is.

Speaking to NPR in 2020, Jerry said: “But if I’m not, which occasionally, of course, humor is a very hit-and-miss business, as we know. And when I’m not, believe me, they will take me out at the knees.

“They will. They’ll look at me and just go, ‘That’s it? That’s all you got?'”

The actor also revealed that he places great importance on humor within the household.

“Kvetching is only of value if you can do it in an amusing way,” he says. “My son just came in a minute ago and he says, ‘I can’t study. The wind is howling.’ I said, ‘We can’t say things like that.’ If you’re going to complain – my whole act is, of course, constant complaining – but you have to find something amusing in that complaint. Otherwise, keep your mouth shut.

“I’m very hard on my family as far as being entertaining. You know, at my dinner table, you’re supposed to be funny.”

An incredibly successful actor, comedian, and producer, Jerry Seinfeld is said to have amassed a fortune of some $950 million over the course of his career. In fact, various sources have labeled him the richest actor in the world, thanks in no small part to the barnstorming success of his comedy series Seinfeld.
