Justin Bieber’s rumored ex-girlfriend shared devastating final post before death at 34

Just months after welcoming her baby daughter, model Sahara Ray shared a touching message on Instagram that has taken on a heartbreaking significance following her sudden death at 34.

Sahara Ray, the 34-year-old model and daughter of Australian surfing legend Tony Ray, died on Oct. 18, following a reported “fentanyl overdose” in Los Angeles, just months after welcoming her first child.

According to the Daily Mail, Sahara was rushed to hospital on Oct. 16 and placed on life support before her family made the difficult decision to withdraw treatment. The outlet reported that it remains unclear whether the overdose was accidental or intentional, and an official cause of death has not been confirmed.

Her death comes after a painful two-year struggle with a neurological condition that left her partially paralyzed and fearing she might never walk again.

Born in Australia, Sahara grew up primarily in Santa Cruz, California, while traveling with her father to surfing competitions around the world.

Her connection to the ocean later influenced her career as she built a substantial Instagram following, established herself as a model and launched her own swimwear brand, Sahara Ray Swim.

She attracted international attention in 2016 when she was photographed vacationing in Hawaii with Justin Bieber, sparking romance rumors. She was also reportedly linked to Australian singer Cody Simpson.

But in 2024, Sahara’s life took a frightening turn when she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare condition in which the immune system attacks the nerves and can cause weakness or paralysis.

‘I can’t walk at all’

Sahara revealed her diagnosis in an emotional social media video, describing how dramatically her mobility had deteriorated.

“I honestly don’t even know how to start this video, I’m so overwhelmed with what’s going on with me,” she said, according to 7NEWS.

“So basically, right now I’m paralyzed from the tops of my upper thighs all the way down to my feet. I can’t walk at all. I am primarily in a wheelchair and I have a walker,” she said, adding that she “can barely walk” with the walker.

“So I have an autoimmune disease that showed up a few weeks ago called Guillain-Barre syndrome,” she shared.

She believed the condition had been triggered by a traffic accident involving a drunk driver, who she alleged was traveling at 128 km/h.

“It basically sent my body into shock, which sent my body into this crazy sickness,” she explained. “I got really, really sick for like a week and a half to two weeks. During that time I barely ate any food because I couldn’t keep it down and my body got really weak.”

The ordeal also took an emotional toll, with Sahara admitting she had withdrawn from social media while adjusting to life with limited mobility.

“This is really hard to deal with, I’ve been trying to keep a good attitude and be hopeful that my feeling comes back, but there’s always a chance it just stays like this.”

‘Passionate and kind young woman’

More than two years later, People confirmed that she had died, “surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved.”

Her mother, Gretchen Bach, also paid tribute, telling the Daily Mail, “Sahara was an incredibly passionate and kind young woman who loved her family, fashion, her daughter Snow, and surfing.”

“We’re feeling the love that is pouring in from her cherished friends, fans and the many communities that she was part of around the world,” Bach added.

Among the most heartbreaking details of Sahara’s death is her final Instagram post dedicated to her baby daughter, whom she welcomed into the world just months earlier.

‘My whole heart’

Sahara had announced her pregnancy in August 2025, and shortly before giving birth, she shared her excitement with social media followers.

“Wish me luck. I get induced today at 8pm. So excited so nervous,” she wrote on Jan. 25.

Her daughter, Snow, arrived on January 27, 2026, and Sahara celebrated the milestone with another heartfelt message.

“Snow Ray 1/27/2026. I can’t believe I made this little miracle with my body. I’m so proud and so in love.”

Months later, Sahara shared what would become her final Instagram post, featuring three photographs of Snow smiling at the camera in different outfits.

Alongside the images, the proud mother wrote a simple message that has taken on heartbreaking significance following her death.

“My whole heart, baby Snow.”
