Kate Middleton struck with one demand by royal expert in the middle of recovering from surgery

Kate Middleton is continuing to recover after the “planned abdominal surgery” she underwent in mid-January. The Princess of Wales has spent the last few weeks at home, except for a short trip to Anmer Hall with her husband, Prince William, and children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Royal fans worldwide have been wondering what Kate Middleton’s medical condition is all about, but in contrast to King Charles, the princess has decided to keep it private. One royal expert has even branded it “bullying” to keep pushing Kate to release her complete medical record.

But another expert is arguing for the exact opposite. Now, just weeks after Kate’s return home from the hospital, Newsweek’s chief royal correspondent, Jack Royston, demands William and Kate to set the record straight.

When it was announced that Kate Middleton had undergone abdominal surgery in mid-January, royal fans worldwide were left in shock. The Princess of Wales had – at least what the public knew – never had any medical issues, and the fact that she now was at a hospital going through surgery left many nervous for her future within the royal sphere.

Kate Middleton recovery update

Today, weeks later, fans can relax as Kate has reunited with her family at Adelaide Cottage. She won’t return to royal duties until after Easter, but another positive sign of her recovery reached the public last week.

Last weekend, Kate Middleton traveled to Norfolk for the half-term break with Prince William and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, to spend some days at Anmer Hall.

The last time Kate was there was when she celebrated her birthday shortly after New Year’s Eve and had family and friends over. However, at that point, even though she knew about it, it was claimed that Kate didn’t tell close friends and people close to the royal family about her then-upcoming surgery.

“She [Kate] was looking forward to a change of scene and will be able to take it easy in Norfolk while the children let off steam with William,” a source told the Daily Mail, adding that “Catherine is recovering well.”

The fact that Kate can travel is a positive sign that her health is improving. Speaking to OK! Magazine, former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond says that the princess and her family prefer to stay in Norfolk, especially since it’s close to their Windsor home.

“One of the great beauties of Norfolk is that it is so accessible from London. Of course, if you’re royal, you can get anywhere quicker than most – and sometimes they probably use a helicopter – but even by car, it’s only a couple of hours, and that makes it so much easier than getting to Balmoral,” she said.

Bond added: “Windsor is lovely, and they have a beautiful house, of course. But it’s also on the Heathrow flight path, and that can be very intrusive. William and Kate find all they want as a family in the wide open spaces that Norfolk offers.”

“Kate is worried”

“I think it’s very encouraging that Kate has been well enough to make the trip to Sandringham,” she concluded. “It shows that she is making a steady recovery. Also, the change will probably be most welcome… the same four walls must get a bit tedious when you are recuperating as she is.”

While Kate is recovering, Prince William has taken on many responsibilities. Not only at home, caring for the couple’s three children, but also in his public life as a working royal. That became even more apparent when King Charles was diagnosed with cancer, and William’s presence as a “steady rock” will be even more crucial.

The royal family members have, of course, been concerned about Kate’s and King Charles’s health. But at the same time, Kate is nervous about how it will affect her husband.

“Kate is worried about the psychic toll these twin medical battles are having on her husband,” Christopher Andersen, author of The King, told Fox News Digital.

“William is terribly concerned about Kate’s condition – we still don’t know what her abdominal surgery was for or why her recovery is taking months – and now he has to face the fact that his father has cancer. William has always made it clear that he wanted a full-fledged family life, and when Kate became incapacitated, he stepped in to play hands-on dad. He cut back on his schedule to drive the kids to school, the whole nine yards.”

Andersen concluded, “Now he has resumed his royal duties much sooner than perhaps he would have liked. But there are times when duty trumps family life and, after all, William is the future king.”

Only time will tell if Princess Kate is back on royal duty right after Easter. However, shortly after the surgery, abdominal surgery expert Shashank Gurjar claimed that the recovery could take up to nine months, depending on several factors.

Royal expert states asking Kate Middleton for medical details is considered ‘bullying’

Meanwhile, even though we don’t have any details on the surgery, royal expert Michael Cole has stated that we can be sure it was a serious matter.

Speaking to GB News, Cole said that it probably would be a long time before we see her in action again, claiming it was a “major” surgery. Meanwhile, ever since Kensington Palace announced that the Princess of Wales had undergone abdominal surgery, fans worldwide have wondered and speculated what it was really about.

In the first statement made by Kensington Palace, it said that Kate hoped that “the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normality for her children as possible” and also that she wished that “her personal medical information remains private.”

Royal expert Richard Eden appeared on the show Palace Confidential and stated that people even had written letters to The Times and online to ask for more information about the surgery.

He even said that pressuring Kate into giving updates could come across as “bullying.”

“I think that there’s no reason why she should she feel bullied into giving more details,” Eden said. “If she wants to, at a later point, fine, that’s up to her. But, she shouldn’t feel that she has to.”

Eden continued speaking about the comments from the public, saying, “It’s been ‘She should give more details,’ and ‘Why doesn’t she?'”

Royal correspondent demands Kate & William to share latest recovery details

“And there’s been more pressure, there’s even been letters written to The Times newspaper, saying it would be a great example to other women if she was to be more open about her medical problems and this sort of thing.”

Even though Richard Eden portrays an image of wanting to get to know more about Kate’s medical condition, which is considered bullying, everyone doesn’t agree.

Almost two months after her latest public appearance, Newsweek’s chief royal correspondent, Jack Royston, makes a demand to William and Kate, wanting them to reveal more details about what is going on.

Speaking with Sky News on Thursday, Royston stated that it doesn’t have to do with the public having the right to know what medical condition Kate is in, but rather to reassure the public that she isn’t having serious issues.

“[The Princess of Wales] is still recovering, we still haven’t seen her, we still haven’t seen a picture of her,” the chief royal correspondent said.

“I am starting to wonder if it might be worth their while considering whether they could release something that had been taken at a calm private moment, just to reassure people that she is ok.”

Royston isn’t the only one arguing that Kate should release more information about her medical condition and give an update on how she is doing.

The same day that the process surgery was announced, King Charles also released the news that he was to undergo treatment for an enlarged prostate. He didn’t necessarily need to disclose those details but decided to anyway because it might help others.

“In common with thousands of men each year, the King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate. His Majesty’s condition is benign and he will attend hospital next week for a corrective procedure,” the palace statement read.

“Kate could possibly have made a huge difference…”

King Charles was praised for being open with his corrective procedure, not least because it could inspire other men to visit the hospital and have a checkup.

While Newsweek’s Jack Royston would want Kate and Kensington Place to release some more information, royal expert Daniela Elser also argued that Kate releasing the information could help others.

Some weeks ago, Elser wrote a long piece on the subject, saying that Kate had made a ‘mistake’ by not handing out more details.

“No one who is not in the Middleton family chat knows exactly what is troubling the mother-of-three and I can’t help but think that the princess has wasted an enormous opportunity here. Kate could possibly have made a huge difference this month and she has chosen not to,” the royal expert wrote, adding that although Kate “is still human” and “entitled to privacy,” she could have calmed the public by announcing what was wrong with her.

“All that has been made known by Kensington Palace about the princess is that whatever is wrong with her is non-cancerous, a detail I’m assuming they only released to prevent mass panic in the aisles of Asda. Tamping down public fears is good and all that but hardly goes much of a ways for such a huge missed opportunity.”

Even though no new pictures of Kate have been released or she is giving a new statement telling the public how she is doing, Prince William gave a short but telling new update on his wife last week.

William gave hint on Kate’s recovery at BAFTA’s

On Sunday, he attended the BAFTA Film Awards by himself without his wife at his side. When greeted on the red carpet, he gave an update on how Kate was doing – and some of the words were quite sad.

“I’m sorry Catherine’s not here; she does love the BAFTAs,” William said, as reported by OK! Magazine.

When asked if he had seen many of the nominated films, he responded, “No, I’ve done the fewest I’ve ever done this year, annoyingly.”

The prince added, “I’ve had other things on my mind. It’s been a bit like… but hopefully, I’ll catch up.”
