Prince Harry has ‘regrets’ over confessions in memoir, faces deportation if lied on Visa

A royal expert says that Prince Harry is “lonely” in an “unfriendly environment,” fearing his American dream will be crushed by Donald Trump, who earlier threatened to “take appropriate action.”

The Duke of Sussex, who moved to the U.S. with Meghan Markle in 2020, penned some regretful truths in his revealing memoir “Spare.”

And now – if it’s found the prince lied on his Visa application – the couple might booted back to the UK. Keep reading to learn why the prince is feeling some “deep regrets.”

In January 2023, Prince Harry released his “raw’ and “unflinching” memoir “Spare,” which details the profound effect of the death of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales his relationship with his older brother Prince William and his father, King Charles III, and his own marriage to actor Meghan Markle.

The book also includes anecdotes of his relationship with drugs.

“Whenever we found ourselves in possession, we’d commandeer a tiny upstairs bathroom, wherein we’d implement a surprisingly thoughtful, orderly assembly line,” the 39-year-old writes of smoking cannabis as a schoolboy at the prestigious Eton College near Windsor Castle. “You’d take a hit or two, blow the smoke out of the window, then move on to the next station, in rotation, until the spliff was gone.”

And though when he was a teenager he denied using cocaine, the Duke of Sussex admits he lied, excusing his drug use on the anguish that burdened him since his mother died.

“Of course…I had been doing cocaine around this time…I’d been offered a line, and I’d done a few more since.” He adds, “I was a deeply unhappy 17-year-old boy willing to try almost anything that would alter the status quo. That was what I told myself anyway.”

Looking for a more effective “escape,” he then started using “psychedelics,” first for “fun” and then “therapeutically, medicinally.”

“They didn’t simply allow me to escape reality for a while, they let me redefine reality.” After explaining how he was able to see beyond his “heavily filtered senses, he writes, “All the great seers and philosophers say our daily life is an illusion. I always felt the truth in that. But how reassuring it was, after nibbling a mushroom, or ingesting ayahuasca, to experience it for myself.”

Did the prince lie on Visa?

Unfortunately, the prince is on the radar of The Heritage Foundation, a Washington-based conservative think tank that sued the U.S government for access to Prince Harry’s immigration records, filed when he landed in the US on 14 March 2020.

Anyone applying to live and work in America must answer if they’ve violated any laws “relating to controlled substances.”

A commentary written on the foundation’s site explains the action: “Harry has publicly admitted to extensive illegal drug use. What do we submit this means? That Harry seems to have received special treatment: the [Department of Homeland Security] looked the other way if the prince answered truthfully, or it looked the other way if the prince lied on his visa application. Either action would be wrong.”

In early March, a judge ruled the documents to be turned over for review and the Sussexes’ U.S. Visa application is now being assessed by the federal courts.

Possible deportation

In light of the unfolding consequences from the prince’s admissions, royal expert and author Tom Quinn says the future of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might be disrupted if Donald Trump becomes president again.

Quinn claims the couple has already looked for legal advice over concerns that drug use confessions will jeopardise their residency status, if Trump makes a comeback.

“The couple have taken legal advice because they’re seriously worried that if Donald Trump wins the next election Harry’s visa may be revoked,” Quinn said. “Trump has insisted that if Harry is found to have lied on his visa application about his admitted drug taking, he could be asked to leave the country.”

And he’s not wrong.

‘Appropriate action’

In a March 2024 interview with Britain’s GB News, Trump delivered a warning to the Duke and Duchess, the latter whom he previously said was “nasty.”

In the 30-minute conversation, Trump was asked by Nigel Farage if Harry should have “special privileges” if authorities find he lied on his Visa application. He replied, “No. We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied, they’ll have to take appropriate action.”

Pushed to clarify if he meant “not staying in America,” the presidential candidate answered, “Oh I don’t know. You’ll have to tell me. You just have to tell me. You would have thought they would have known this a long time ago.”

Deep regrets

Meanwhile, Quinn suggests that the prince is experiencing “regrets” and hopes to be spared over his astounding admissions in “Spare.”

“Harry initially thought this couldn’t possibly happen to him as the normal rules don’t apply to a Royal Prince, but he is increasingly realizing that in the United States being a prince doesn’t actually count for very much. But one thing is for sure Harry deeply regrets ever making his drug-taking public. It never occurred to him that this might end up threatening his whole life plan.”

Quinn adds, “He finds the day long and lonely. Meghan does her best to support Harry, but she is in her natural environment, and he is in a strange unfamiliar world which grows increasingly unfriendly.”
