Scarlett Johansson just opened up about what she went through after she heard about Jeremy Renner’s brutal snowplow accident. The actress shared her feelings in an emotional new interview.

On New Year’s Day news emerged that Jeremy Renner was involved in a major accident. In order to save his nephew from the path of a snowplow, the actor came under the snowplow himself. The actor was airlifted to a hospital to receive treatment. His injuries were very serious and he was kept in an ICU in order to help treat him.

“I was honestly so f**king happy to see him. I didn’t know if I was ever going to see him again. To not only see him again but to see him thriving and in such an amazing space, mentally,” Johansson said. “He’s a very spiritual person in general and a very soulful person. And you can see that in his work. It comes through. He has such a depth to him. And I just was so happy to see that he is full of life and light, and he’s also hilarious. We laughed a lot.”

Chris Evans was in the interview as well and attested to the fact that there was only happiness and hope in the room when they all met Renner. “No tears at all. A lot of laughs and smiles and hugs. Leave it to Jeremy to take something this potentially tragic and turn it into something so inspiring,” Evans said.

Johansson shared where she was when she heard the news. She was shooting her film Project Artemis when she got the news that her Avengers co-star was hospitalized due to life-threatening injuries following an accident.

“I was very upset,” Johansson recalls. However as days went on, Renner’s prognosis improved dramatically and now his Marvel co-stars joke about how the 52-year-old actor is a real-life superhero as well.

“On the Avengers text chain, we’re like, ‘OK, you beat us all. That’s it. You won,'” Johansson shared. “That’s like real superhero stuff. It’s unbelievable.”

The actor knows how concerned fans and loved ones are about his recovery and is hence keeping everyone up to date. He posted a video on Instagram of his progress in physical therapy, writing, “My PT made this for reference and to remember, you cannot walk unless you take one step at a time! #onefootinfrontoftheother,” Renner wrote next to the video shared on Instagram.

The video shows the progress Renner has made since his accident. The video opens with him using a walker to walk as someone wheels a wheelchair close behind him, ready to catch him if he falls to him walking with a cane in his hand showing how much he has improved in just a few months.

The actor had his show Rennervations released recently and said his goal was to be up on his feet by the time it aired. He said, “A lot of my recovery was based on this show and setting the intention for me to be upright and walking and out of the bed for this show.” He also added, “And obviously for my daughter. [My recovery] affected so many people, my family, my friends, and the show is a great representation of that.”

We are so relieved at Jeremy Renner’s recovery. We send him all our love and strength! Share this piece with other fans of the actor so they can be up to date about his health.
