An effortless and enviable beauty, Modern Family alumn Sofia Vergara, who’s celebrating her birthday in Italy, is being honest about turning 51 years old and what it has entailed.
Sofia Vergara, who celebrated her 51st birthday with her “best friends” on a luxury Italian vacation, poked fun at herself in an Instagram post, where she’s seen on a patio, the ocean serving as the background to her makeup-free, flawless face.
The Colombian American actress captioned the post, which is translated from Spanish, “Waking up here on my 51st birthday! Still healthy, dreams, energy, (my knees already hurt, yes) but with a lot of joy to live! Thank you all for the messages!!”
The stunning actress, who looks incredibly young, jokingly referred to her knees and how it feels to be aging!
Celebrity friends jumped in, wishing her a happy day and commented on her amusing post. Model Heidi Klum writes, “I love you Sofia. I am so lucky to have you in my life. Happy Birthday,” a comment that compelled comedian Howie Mandel to say, “Happy birthday. @heidiklum is so lucky to have you in her life.”
Meanwhile, Modern Family co-star Sarah Hyland simply said, “HAAAAAAAA…”
Among those who wished the star of Hot Pursuit on her big day was her son, Manolo, whom she shares with ex-husband Joe Gonzalez. “Te quiero mucho,” he writes.
Last year, Manolo posted a sweet video reel of images, starting with a picture of her from when she was a child.
Translated to English, Manolo writes, “Happy forty ten!!!! I love you so much Ma, that the next 40+10 you will be even better!!!!!!!”
Jeremy Maguire, who played Joe Pritchett, the adorable son of Vergara’s Gloria on the hit comedy show, also celebrated his TV mom’s birthday with a cute photo of the two that he captioned, “Happy birthday beautiful. I love you forever!”
On July 9, the America’s Got Talent panelist also celebrated the start of her Italian vacation by announcing that she reached 30 million followers on Instagram. The post includes a stunning photo of her posing in a one-piece lime green bathing suit, with the blue sky and ocean as her backdrop.
She writes, “30,000,000 followers!! Thank u to u all! Thank u for always being there for me! Thank u for always supporting me in everything I do!! Besos from Italy!!”
Scores of fans praised her timeless beauty with comments like, “This woman is 25 years eternally??” and “Without a doubt, the most beautiful woman in the universe.”
The former CoverGirl model posted several snippets from her birthday celebrations in Italy. In the various posts she can be seen eating gelato in a car, brunching with friends, blowing out firecracker candles on a cake and being serenaded at her birthday dinner. Her husband Joe Manganiello, was noticeably absent from the celebrations. Some fans were worried about what his absence meant for their marriage.
But Vergara wasn’t claiming the day for herself. Amid her birthday frenzy, Vergara took the opportunity to show some love and wish her blonde chihuahua, Bubbles, a happy birthday.
“Feliz 10th cumpleaños my sweet, vicious Bubbles! No matter how many times u bite me I will always love u,” she writes in a July 9 post that shares the image of Bubbles, wearing a leopard dress, diving into a bright pink cake that’s topped with a pink flamingo.
Heidi Klum jumped in writing, “Happy Birthday Bubbles from auntie Heidi,” while a fan says, “She bites you because you’re sweet!!!”
