‘Star Wars’ and ‘Labyrinth’ actor Paul Grant, dead at 56 years old – rest in peace

Death is a natural part of life but that does not mean it is any less devastating. Especially when death comes sooner than expected for someone who seemingly had much more life to live

Actor Paul Grant left us too soon…

Paul Grant was best known for his roles in the Harry Potter and Star Wars franchises. He died at age 56 on Sunday.

The actor was rushed to a hospital after he collapsed at a London train station on Thursday. He had been pronounced brain dead after he had arrived and was assessed by medical professionals.

His family made the decision to switch off life support for Grant on Sunday. The cause of death which led to his collapse and subsequent death has not yet been released.

“I’m devastated,” Grant’s daughter Sophie said in a statement to the media. “My dad was a legend in so many ways. He always brought a smile and laughter to everyone’s face. He would do anything for anyone and was a massive Arsenal fan.”

Grant’s girlfriend Maria Dwyer also paid tribute to her late love by writing a heartfelt note for him. She wrote, “Paul was the love of my life. The funniest man I know. He made my life complete. Life is never going to be the same without him.”

The actor played the role of an Ewok in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, a goblin in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and appeared alongside David Bowie in Labyrinth.

Grant is survived by his girlfriend Maria, his two daughters, and one son, as well as several stepchildren and grandchildren.
