Surveillance footage shows man breaking into morgue, sexually abusing multiple corpses

A disturbing case from Arizona has emerged after authorities accused a man of breaking into a morgue and sexually violating multiple corpses.

According to officials, 31-year-old Fenris Lu allegedly forced his way into the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office in Phoenix using a crowbar.

Surveillance footage reportedly captured Lu inside the building, where investigators say he tampered with 11 body bags and sexually violated four corpses.

Lu is currently being held at Lower Buckeye Jail in Phoenix on a $500,000 bond.

Officials say Maricopa County Security Services and the Phoenix Police Department were already on scene and helped secure the facility before Lu was taken into custody.

“During a subsequent search of the building, one individual was located and ultimately taken into custody without incident,” authorities said in a statement.

Lu reportedly did not attend recent court proceedings after being considered dangerous and a potential threat both to the public and himself.

Families reportedly not yet informed

The case becomes even more troubling given that, according to reports, authorities have not yet notified the families of the deceased individuals involved.

Investigators say they need additional time both to contact next of kin and determine whether Lu’s alleged actions may have affected other criminal investigations connected to the corpses.

“Law enforcement is currently looking into were the decedents involved in other criminal cases and perhaps were the defendant’s actions possibly compromised any evidence as far as any other investigations go,” a spokesperson explained.

Lu now faces several felony charges tied to the alleged break-in and conduct inside the morgue.

Investigation still ongoing

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office praised the coordinated response from local agencies, saying the scene was secured safely and the investigation could move forward efficiently.

For now, officials say they are withholding further details out of respect for those potentially affected and to protect the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
