A woman’s pregnancies are times they will always fondly recall as a special period in their life. While most women have a couple of babies they gave birth to, this woman was able to birth 22 children and considers each of them to be her miracle.
Sue Radford is a 47-year-old mother of fourteen from the UK! Apart from being a mother, she is also a reality television star as well as a popular YouTuber.
Sue’s first pregnancy was at 14-years-old. It was 1989 when she found out she was pregnant and was determined to carry the child to term. The young teenager then gave birth to a boy named Chris.
A few years after she gave birth to their first child, Sue married Noel Radford in 1993. At the time of their marriage, she was 17-years-old and her husband was 21-years-old. Soon after, the young couple found out that they were expecting their second child together, a daughter named Sophie.
A year after Sophie’s birth they were expecting their third child – a daughter. The couple had one child after another and are now parents to 22 children!
The couple’s eldest child is now 32 years old while their youngest child is just over a year old.
Their children include Chris, 32, Sophie, 28, Chloe, 26, Jack, 24, Daniel, 22, Luke, 21, Millie, 20, Katie, 19, James, 18, Ellie, 16, Aimee, 15, Josh, 14, Max, 13, Tillie, 11, Oscar, 10, Casper, nine, Hallie, six, Phoebe, five, Archie, four, Bonnie, three, and Heidie, one.
While Rue has had 22 successful pregnancies, there have also been heartbreaks that the couple has experienced. Their 17th baby was stillborn, a boy named Alfie on July 6, 2014.
After their 22nd baby in 2020, the couple said they will no longer be having more children. But apparently, this was not the first time they had made a claim like this because one of their older children wanted to get this proclamation in writing.
“You’ve said this multiple times, that this would be your last one. Can we get it in writing?” he said.
As for how they manage to take care of such a big family, which is arguably the biggest family in the UK, well they have a family business. Noel set up a bakery in 1999 called the “The Radford Pie Company,” and they have been running it ever since.
As for the family’s living situation, they reside in a ten-bedroom home in Morecambe, Lancashire. The family purchased the home in 2004 for $305,326.
Having 22 children cannot be easy and they sure go through a lot of food in 24 hours. The couple revealed that the family goes through 8 liters of milk, three liters of juice, and three boxes of cereal every morning just for breakfast.
In 2012, the family started gaining notoriety after they starred in their own reality tv show titled “15 Kids and Counting.”
Now the show is called “22 Kids and Counting” to more accurately depict the size of the family. It features the couple, their 22 children, and 12 grandchildren. Of their 22 children, their eldest children no longer live with them and have their own homes.
The youngest members of the family are now the grandchildren with daughter Millie’s son Chester Bleu.
The couple celebrated over 30 years of being together but still manage to keep the romance alive. Despite having a house full of children, the couple makes sure to carve out one-on-one time for each other to keep the spark alive and lavish one another with expensive gifts.
For their 25th wedding anniversary in 2017, Sue took to Facebook to express her feelings for her beloved husband.
“25 years ago today I married my soul mate. Who would have thought 25 years later we’d of just welcomed our 20th child into our family! I couldn’t love this man anymore if I tried happy silver wedding anniversary to us,” she wrote as a caption for a picture of them together on their wedding day.
While just the idea of having 22 children might sound tiresome to some people, Sue and Noel don’t mind it at all. The couple absolutely adores their family and even makes time to go on family holidays every now and then!
The family also makes sure that they celebrate every small and big achievement. The clan recently all went to the church for their christening. Apart from that, they have a huge following on their social media and YouTube channels with thousands of fans who want to know more about how such a big family is able to work.
