A 46-year-old woman survived a frightening crash where a semi-truck flattened the car she was driving Tuesday afternoon.
The pictures from the scene make it difficult to believe that she escaped with what has been described as minor injuries.
KOMO reports that the crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on I-5 in Seattle when a tractor-trailer that was following too close to a 2015 Nissan Altima struck the vehicle and flattened it.
Trooper Rocky Oliphant, who responded to the scene, said, “The car was struck from behind, folded the car in half, and semi came to rest on top of the car.”
Despite the potentially gruesome outcome, the driver of the truck was only cited for “following too closely,” which is a $189 fine.
“In my 14 year career, I have never seen anything like it,” Oliphant wrote on Twitter.
It’s absolutely a miracle that the woman who was driving this vehicle survived.
I pray that she has a speedy recovery.
