Woman spots tragic accident on the road – looks closer and sees what’s hiding in the crowd

The power of working together is an unparalleled one which should never be underestimated. This is especially true in desperate times such as emergency situations. I think in this day and age, we have become so dependent on the state or technology to take care of things, minding our own business, that we sometimes forget the things we can achieve if we work together.

Nevertheless, people uniting for a good cause does still happen all the time – and when they do, it’s important to share the stories to remind ourselves of our potential if we work together.

Here is an example of just that – people coming together in an emergency to help other people in need. It’s a remarkable story that made the news September last year.

A Ford SUV carrying three passengers was on the highway in Ruskin, Florida, when suddenly one of its tires ruptured.

This prompted the driver to lose control of the car and the vehicle flipped over the guard rail onto the grass, landing upside down.

The accident caught the attention of several witnesses driving on the road, who stopped to help. These included Dayna Gibson and her father, David Lowe. They managed to help the 31-year-old driver and a younger passenger out of the car safely. Once they were out, the distressed driver told the others that her 9-year-old daughter was still stuck under the car.

“She told us that her youngest daughter was under the vehicle, so at that time all of us ran around to the other side and we saw the little girl’s arm sticking out from under the vehicle,” Dayna told The Miami Herald.

The 31-year-old driver begged for help to lift the car to pull her kid out.

And that’s exactly what happened. Instead of panicking, a large group of people got together and lifted the car up. Meanwhile, paramedics who’d arrived on scene pulled out the little girl.

“We achieved what would have been impossible by coming together, there were people from all walks of life there, it didn’t matter,” Dayna added.

The Miami Herald says that witnesses estimated about 50 people were there to help.

“It was surreal, everyone from shorts and flip flops to three piece suits,” says David Lowe.

The strangers’ effort was a total success; together they manged to save this little girl a lot more efficiently and quickly than the paramedics had expected.

All three passengers were taken to a nearby hospital and manged to avoid any serious injuries.

Dayna Gibson believes the experience taught her an extremely important lesson: “I think if we could be reminded how powerful we are together, especially during these times, we could do a lot of great things.”

Share this uplifting story to spread the message of how working together in desperate times can make a big difference!
