Woman’s tumbler survives fire that destroys car, cup company gifts her new vehicle for viral video

A viral TikTok video is shocking almost 91 million people who are learning that a tumbler is more durable than a vehicle.

In the clip, a woman named Danielle Turner shows her SUV on the side of the highway, flames billowing from the front. One day later at the junkyard, the woman entered the charred remains from the driver’s side and lifts from the cup holder a Stanley tumbler.

Shaking it, she says, “it was in a fire yesterday and it still has ice in it.”

After giving the cup company priceless advertising, Stanley in return gave the woman an early Christmas present that she says changed her life. Keep reading to learn more about Stanley’s Christmas giving spirit!

On November 14 Maryland’s Danielle Turner was standing on the side of a highway, at a safe distance from her vehicle, which had flames firing from the hood into the sky, and thick black smoke filling the air.

“Yes that’s our car on fire. No, we don’t what caused it, it just happened,” she says, further explaining that no one was harmed.

The next day, Turner shared a TikTok video of her at the junkyard, checking out her red KIA SUV, that was destroyed by the fire the day before.

The hood of the vehicle was completely incinerated, while the inside was a sooty mess, the dashboard and part of the steering wheel melted from the heat.

Sitting inside one cup holder, the other still filled with water from the firefighter’s work the day before, was her copper-colored Stanley tumbler, that was undamaged.

The company isn’t lying when it says its cups are “built for life.”

In the clip – captioned “Thirsty after you catch on fire? [Stanley] is like no problem I gotchu” – Turner is seen lifting the tumbler from the holder.

Then shaking it, viewers hear the loud clatter of ice cubes banging against the walls.

“Everybody is so concerned about the Stanley…if it spills. But what about if it melts?” She continues, “It was in a fire yesterday and it still has ice in it.”

Honest advertising

Netizens were shocked that not only did the cup survive the fire unharmed, but that it kept the drink inside ice cold, despite the scorching heat of the flames that destroyed its surroundings.

One writes, “Now this is good marketing for Stanley.” Another shares, “Stanley should buy you a new car for this awesome fresh advertisement.”

A third quips about its durability, “Stanley should make cars.”

Posting the clip on TikTok while she was still at the junkyard, Turner explains that it gathered 30,000 views before she left her scorched car.

It also captured the attention of the Stanley, that messaged her offering some new “goodies.”

As the clip continued to draw attention, by the millions in only 24 hours, the president Terence Reilly reached out, sending her a personal video message.

He says, “Hey Danielle…we’ve all seen your video. Wow, what an ordeal and we’re all really glad you’re safe.”

Before revealing his big surprise, Reilly first hints that people should not expect to get replacement vehicles if they test their Stanleys by scorching their cars. He says, “We’ve never done this before, and we’ll probably never do it again, but we’d love to replace your vehicle.”

Thanking her for the sharing the video, which clearly demonstrates “Stanleys are built for life,” he continues, “I’ve seen a lot of comments that we should send you some Stanleys. Well, we’re going to send you some Stanleys, but there’s one more thing.”

Stanley: ‘I gotchu’

On November 19, Turner received her new tumblers and one month later, she shares another clip on TikTok, where she’s seen at a car dealership, next to a white Mazda CX-90 that’s tied with a huge red bow.

The vanity plates read “STANLEY 1913,” the year the company was established.

Turner writes, “What a journey, thank you all sooo much for being here for it. I can’t say it enough, this wouldn’t have happened without every single one of you. Love you and [Stanley] thanks for changing my life.”

Cybernauts were thrilled with the outcome and praised the company for its unparalleled customer service.

One netizen shares, “Literally the best response, hello?? Such a kind and genuine brand and person!! Might as well support and order some Stanleys!!”

A second writes, “I bought my first Stanley because of your video and their response!”

“Thank you, Stanley for being a light in the dark for this beautiful soul & her family!!” writes a third.

And a fourth suggests how great it would be if all businesses were headed by leaders who inspire change: “This is wonderful to see. If more CEO’s did good deeds like this the world would be a much better place.”

Stanley just showed the world superior customer service, and we agree with the online user who says if more leaders were like Terence Reilly, “the world would be a much better place.”
