Wrong-way driver kills mother of 4 in high-speed head-on crash

A head-on crash in St. Clair County, Michigan killed two people Monday. One of the victims was a 33-year-old mother of four. Her 6-year-old son, who was also involved, survived and remains in stable condition.

According to police, a wrong-way driver slammed into Teah Owens’ vehicle on I-94 near Meldrum Road around 2:30 pm January 3. Both drivers were killed, but her young son survived.

Teah’s family shared in a GoFundMe, which was set up to cover funeral costs and medical expenses, that the 33-year-old and her son were on their way to visit family when the horrible crash occurred.

She was driving her 2003 GMC Yukon in the eastbound lanes of I-94 when a 25-year-old driver in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruz came speeding towards her.

The two vehicles collided, and both drivers were killed.
