Young boy told off for ‘doodling’ in class – what happens next will have you in tears

Doodling to pass the time in class has long been considered a rite of passage, especially during school lessons that no one likes to go to!

However, while many of our scribbles consisted of random squiggly shapes or, even better, humorous drawings about our least favorite teacher, one young boy’s doodles landed him in hot water at school…

…Though, what happened to him next will truly have you in tears!

doodles have led to a remarkable partnership with Nike for a digital campaign aimed at nurturing children’s creativity.

British schoolboy, Joe Whale, isn’t unlike your average 13-year-old – he loves his friends, sports, and drawing to pass the time during lessons.

While this may seem harmless, it ended up getting him into quite a bit of trouble at school – his teachers would constantly reprimand him for not paying enough attention.

Eventually, Joe started posting his drawings on social media, where he became known as ‘Doodle Boy’.

Despite facing frequent reprimands in class for his spontaneous artwork, Joe’s illustrations gained attention on Instagram, where he now boasts a substantial following of over 166,000!

In a surprising twist of fate, Joe, found himself collaborating with one of the world’s foremost sportswear brands, who noticed his quirky drawings on Instagram. Yep, that’s right, Nike spotted Joe’s talent from a mile away, offering him the dream opportunity to turn his hobby into a paid gig!

Joe’s agency, Loveblood Creative, officially confirmed that the youngster would be working with Nike, saying in a statement: “We are thrilled to announce that Joe is now part of the Nike Family. This unique collaboration combines Joe’s talent and love for sports to inspire others to have fun and pursue their passions.”

Joe’s father, Gregory Whale, told CNN at the time: “Joe is really excited to join the Nike Family; he absolutely loves the brand. It is a dream come true for him as he loves both sport and creativity, and partnering with Nike will give him the opportunity to embrace both.”

It’s not just Nike, though, as numerous other brands and companies (including restaurants) have commissioned quirky pieces from Joe – and each design manages to take everyone’s breath away!

On the official Doodle Boy website, Joe explains: “I have been drawing and painting since the age of three, and art has been a huge part of my life. I would draw, paint, and do crafts at every opportunity, and that hasn’t changed to this day.”

He also told fans that his “favorite characters to draw are food, monsters, and aliens.”

However, he did admit he likes to draw anything, adding: “I pretty much create doodles from anything as I get inspired by my surroundings and create characters from all of the things I see, such as my burger and fries characters, flowers, vegetables, cakes – yum -, clouds, etc.”

And, according to Joe, there is just ‘one rule’ he religiously follows when it comes to his doodles.

“There is no right or wrong in art, just interpretation,” he revealed, “and this means when I create, I am completely free to express.”

What a lovely story! It just goes to show what can happen when we encourage children to be creative!
