Prince William and Prince Harry were inseparable when growing up. But sadly, that is far from the case today. Now, new tragic details about the brothers’ non-existent relationship have come to light after Harry reportedly tried to make contact.
Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship is as cold as ice. The brothers, who once were inseparable, have not spoken for years, and it all started when Harry left his Royal Family behind.
Harry’s many claims about not only his brother but other members of the royal family didn’t suit the future king well at all. Now, with the estranged prince back in the U.K., William has made it clear that Harry will never be welcomed back into the royal fold.
Princess Diana has always been a connecting factor between William and Harry. Some years ago, they unveiled a new statue of their late mother together, and the 30th anniversary of her passing is getting closer.
The 30th anniversary would be a fitting time for the brothers to reunite and make amends. Reports suggest courtiers are trying to bring Prince William and Prince Harry back to the same table, hoping the brothers could join forces for a tribute to their late mother, Princess Diana.
Sources tell Star that palace officials are hoping the milestone could give the estranged brothers a reason to reconnect. However, one major problem reportedly remains.
Why William is refusing to reunite with Harry for Diana’s death anniversary
“Harry is all for it, but William’s refused,” the source said.
The Sussexes’ recent return to the U.K. with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, has reportedly done little to heal the rift.
“[William’s] acting like they don’t even exist,” the source added. “Harry is genuinely shocked that there’s not even been a shred of forgiveness on William’s part.”
According to the source, Harry has tried to make peace. However, his brother doesn’t seem to care.
“Harry insists he’s tried to find every possible way to say that he’s sorry … and it hasn’t made a dent in things,” the source continued.
But the situation could become even more serious, the insider claims, adding that Harry “is known to be pretty impulsive and the more wound up he gets, the more likely he is to follow through on his threats to make William regret this.”
“William is refusing to come to the table”
And Harry isn’t the only person said to be struggling with William. The future king’s relationship with his father, King Charles III, has reportedly also become increasingly strained.
“The king has given the orders for this feud to be squashed but as everyone knows, William is refusing to come to the table,” the source told Star.
The insider claims William is “openly going against” the king’s wishes by continuing to treat Harry and Meghan as though they are unwelcome, despite the couple now being back in the U.K.
“He’s [openly going against] the king’s wishes by continuing to act as though Harry and Meghan are banished when they’re clearly right there at his doorstep.”
Time will tell if William and Harry will ever make amends or if the rift is too deep to ever repair.
