The question of what happens after death has been debated for thousands of years. Some believe in heaven and hell, others in reincarnation, and some that it simply goes pitch dark and silent. At the same time, some have cheated death, being brought back to life. On the online forum Reddit, one hospital patient who was brought back to life reveals what they saw.
To be able to tell others about what happens after death has always been claimed to be impossible. In later days, as machines to restart the heart was invented, that has changed. People have many different experiences, and one user on the online forum Reddit has not revealed what it was like to be in the land between life and death.
Reddit, a huge online forum, is a place where you can ask all sorts of questions and engage in debates. One of the discussion forums is called “AMA,” short for “Ask me Anything.”
There, a user named HumbleBumble77 explained that they were on life support after an incident, were pronounced dead for a couple of minutes, and placed on a. mechanical ventilator for days before being brought back to life.
The post read, “I have died, was revived, and was on life support for quite some time. I also work in healthcare. Needless to say, being on both sides of the spectrum (as a healthcare provider and patient surviver) after this incident has really heightened my perspective.”
Hospital patient who died before coming back to life reveals exactly what they saw
The “Ask me Anything” sub-forum is just what it sounds like. It lets people ask a person whatever question they have about the premises, and in this case, about the near-death experience, or rather, the death experience.
One person asked what it was like, to which the author responded, “The experience was humbling. I felt absolutely no pain. I was comfortable even though my body was fighting hard against everything physically. I remember vomiting a few times while on the ventilator and aspirating… but, it didn’t hurt.”
The person said they felt comforted being surrounded by family in the ICU. They felt their presence and even heard conversations.
“It was a bit like an out-of-body experience… I can still recall conversations my family had in the ICU room, but no matter how much I wanted to reply to them or even interact with them, I couldn’t. That was the weird part for me,” they continued,” claiming to have even spotted someone who possibly couldn’t have been in the hospital room,
“Upon extubation (removing ventilator from lungs), I remember seeing my grandmother who passed away in 2004. She told me to ‘turn around… my time here is just beginning’. Then… I felt the tubes slide out of my lungs and the nurses yelling my name.”
Saw loved ones that had passed away
The user continued to answer questions about the experience, saying they felt “blessed” to have seen their grandmother.”
“She basically told me that my time here on earth wasn’t finished,” they continued. “I like to refer to her as my genuine guardian angel,” they continued. “I do not really know if she came to me or not… or whether it was the medications. However, it was comforting and opened my eyes to the real possibility of seeing my loved ones who have passed on again.”
Other Reddit users were astonished by the story. One described it as “wild,” stating, “I love reading about stuff like this. Sure, the brain is powerful and it’s entirely possible that was a hallucination of some kind. But it’s also possible it wasn’t.”
Menawhie, one user commented on the original post with their own story, stating that seeing other people in the room can be explained.
“I was in the ICU after dying and being revived by bumbling EMTs (they saved me and I traumatized them). I hallucinated wildly but none of it was real, I had no pain, just fear because I absolutely did not want to die,” the user wrote.
“I remember a code blue, and I never lost consciousness. I remember everything. I remember the [doctor] telling me I was not going to die. And I remember the nurse telling me I was hallucinating because the high doses of norepinephrine they were giving me made that happen. Nothing spiritual happened.
