The breakout star of this year’s NFL season wasn’t an up-and-coming quarterback — it was pop sensation Taylor Swift, who frequently steals the spotlight by cheering on her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
But even the “Karma” singer was upstaged by Travis’ brother Jason Kelce, who has gone viral for hyping up the crowd with his shirt off and chugging a beer.
At Sunday’s game between the Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills, both Taylor Swift and Jason Kelce — a center for the now-eliminated Philadelphia Eagles — were in a private suite at Highmark Stadium to cheer on Travis and his teammates.
As is routine at this point, coverage of the game often cut to Ms. Swift for a reaction shot. But it was Jason, stepping up as a true hype man for his brother’s team, who truly stole the show and went viral.
The NFL star went shirtless (impressive given the frigid cold weather up in Buffalo) and jumped out of the suite, chugging beers with the fans.
Despite being from another team, he apparently won the hearts of the Bills fans. “We like you more than your brother!” one fan is heard saying.
It was enough to upstage the princess of pop herself. When cameras cut to Swift inside the suite, fans took more notice of the topless Jason drinking a beer in the background.
And in a sweet moment, Jason gives a lift to a young Swiftie so she can show her handmade sign to her idol. “Let’s show this to Taylor,” he tells the girl.
The gesture also clearly won the hearts of the crowd: “You’re the best, Kelce! You’re the best!”
Kelce’s two-year-old daughter Ellie had a difference response: according to a text he tweeted, Ellie said “Dad’s boobs are showing!” after seeing him on TV.
“Buffalo is awesome, the energy is contagious. Such an incredible experience!!” Kelce wrote on Twitter.
With his brother serving as a shirtless, beer-chugging hype man, it’s no wonder that Travis Kelce and the Chiefs beat the Bills 27-24.
Travis — who had a viral moment of his own, making a heart gesture to his famous girlfriend — was unsurprised after learning about Jason’s antics.
“My brother was shirtless? No, that doesn’t surprise me one bit,” he told Westwood One Sports.
“I love that guy. And every time we’re not on the field together, we’re always rooting for each other.”

There have been rumors in recent days that Jason, 36, is retiring from the NFL after this season, but he says he has not made a decision on that front.
“I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really, you know, make that decision. I just don’t,” he said on his podcast. “There’s too much emotion in the moment. There’s too much going down in the moment to really fully grasp that decision. I’m not trying to be dramatic to continue to draw this thing out. I’m really not.”
Whether he returns to football or not, it’s clear that right now Jason Kelce is here to party.
