A post from self-described “frequent flyer” Dickie Bush is going viral on LinkedIn – and Reddit – after listing some “lessons and realizations” he recently came to learn.
While several of his observations are reasonable, there’s one piece of advice that has struck a nerve with many other frequent flyers.
“Board in Group 1, no matter your group. 99% of the time they don’t say anything. Worst case they tell you to wait, then you’re first when they call your actual group,” Bush wrote in his post.
While there were many comments on LinkedIn who agreed with Bush’s controversial take, claiming boarding groups are a “farce,” people on Reddit had other things to say.
“Anyone who does this is the worst type of person. If you do this it’s similar to parking in a handicap spot it’s that bad.”
“I don’t know why so many people are concerned with boarding right away. I’d prefer to not be stuck on the plane for as long as possible,” someone else voiced.
“Systems are in place for a reason. So irritating,” another Redditor wrote.
What do you think? Is it worth it to attempt to board first no matter what boarding group you were assigned?
