Jill Duggar Dillard and husband Derrick took to social media over the weekend to announce the stillbirth of their fourth child, a daughter.
The couple, who are parents to three boys, revealed their daughter died in utero when Jill was four months pregnant.
“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby girl, Isla Marie Dillard,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram post. “Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero.”
“From the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby. Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world.”
The pair has experienced pregnancy loss in the past. Before the Dillards welcomed their youngest child, Fredrick, Jill miscarried “a few days” after telling her family the couple was expecting.
“Even though it was too early to tell the baby’s gender, we picked a name that we feel encompasses our baby’s significance and the life we will always remember: River Bliss Dillard,” they wrote in an October 2021 blog post.
A few months later the Dillards announced they were expecting a rainbow baby. Their youngest, Fredrick, was born July 2022.
The couple’s joint Instagram post was flooded with thousands of comments of prayers and support.

“So so sorry for the loss of your beautiful baby girl. Isla knew nothing but love from you and that is beautiful. There is a whole community of loss parents here to support you.”

There is nothing that compares to grieving the death of one of your children and dont let anyone dismiss you in your grief since you have living kids and since you met Ms Isla sooner than expected too. Your grief is valid, your love is real. Isla, you are loved and missed. 🩷”
Our prayers are with the Dillards as they maneuver through this immense amount of grief.
