It’s not looking good for touring country musicians lately, with big names like Bruce Springsteen and Luke Bryan being forced to cancel or postpone their shows due to illness.
And now, Chris Stapleton has also regrettably had to postpone his upcoming concerts due to health issues.
“To all my friends in Corpus Christi, Houston, and Lafayette, I am very sorry to let you all know that I am unable to perform this weekend’s shows,” the 45-year-old shared on Instagram.
“I have bronchitis and laryngitis, and on doctor’s orders, am on vocal rest through the weekend in order to heal.”
The voice behind ‘Tennessee Whiskey‘ has rescheduled the performances for November. Stapleton now intends to perform in Lafayette, Louisiana, on November 16, followed by Houston on November 17 and Corpus Christi, Texas, on November 18.
He also penned a considerate message to his devoted fans, advising those who might be unable to attend the rescheduled shows to reach out to the ticket vendors.
“For those who cannot attend, please contact your point of purchase within the next seven days,” he stated.
The eight-time Grammy Award winner was met with an outpouring of support from his fans as he made the tough decision to put his All American Road Show tour on hold.
“Get well soon and take care, Chris!! That’s the most important thing, buddy,” one empathetic fan commented on social media.
Another supporter chimed in: “Get well & take care! Get plenty of rest & before ya know it, ya ba back on the road again.”
Nevertheless, some fans couldn’t help but feel disappointed by the last-minute cancellation, with one posting: “Oh no, It’s a letdown!”
Though, this is not the first time that the ‘Starting Over‘ crooner’s health has been impacted by laryngitis. In October 2021, he found himself in a similar situation, with his doctor recommending temporary vocal rest for his recovery.
Stapleton’s All America Road Show tour has an extensive schedule, with performances slated until December 2024, taking him to cities such as Detroit and Chicago, as well as overseas.
In addition to his tour, Stapleton is gearing up for the release of his eagerly anticipated album, Higher, scheduled for November, which includes the new single ‘White Horse‘.
Earlier this year, Stapleton graced the stage at Super Bowl LVII, delivering a stirring rendition of ‘The Star-Spangled Banner‘ while strumming a black electric guitar in true country style.
