Pierce Brosnan has been a devoted husband to Keely Shaye Smith for the last two decades. When Keely turned 60 years old, she got the surprise of her life from her beloved husband.
Keely was a journalist and environmentalist, she has been in a relationship with Brosnan since 2001. When you are with someone for such a long time, it happens sometimes that you often fail to do something grand for big occasions like birthdays. But it seems like Brosnan is not one to get complacent! He planned a wonderful surprise for his wife that swept her off her feet.
He presented Keely with a bouquet of 60 beautiful red roses on her birthday. He gave his wife, one rose for every year since her birth!
The couple has been together from 1995 to 2000, and apart from their love for another, the couple also shares a love for the environment. Together, they stopped the construction of a salt factory in Laguna San Ignacio, Mexico.
In 2007, they also stopped the construction of a natural gas facility off the coast of Malibu. Both of them share a love for the planet and routinely get involved in causes, lending their support and influence for the good of the planet.
He posted the surprise on Instagram, writing in the caption, “Sixty roses for my brown-eyed girl on her 60th birthday. Forever happy and blessed was I to be sitting there when you walked around the corner early one morning in Cabo San Lucas.”
Keely Shaye Smith is Brosnan’s second wife. He was married earlier to Cassandra Harris, who passed away due to ovarian cancer in 1991.
The last moments he had spent with his wife were incredibly painful for him and it had taken him a decade to even become comfortable with the idea of dating again.
He had adopted his wife’s daughter from an earlier relationship as his own. In 2013, he lost her to the same disease, which destroyed him again.
He shares two sons with Keely, Dylan and Paris. He is also a grandfather to four children
