Just like in her family, Dakota Johnson also chose a career in Hollywood. She is an actress, producer, and director. She has been acting since she was a child and has now appeared in over 30 movies.
Her biggest role to date is perhaps as Anastasia Steele in “Fifty Shades of Grey.” She later reprised the role in the sequels, “Fifty Shades Darker” and “Fifty Shades Freed.”

Despite their divorce, Antonio and his former stepdaughter, Dakota still share a good bond. While being interviewed at the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Film Awards Gala in 2020, he said of Dakota, “She was 5 when I met her, when she became my family. I almost changed her nappies. She’s my daughter, I love her. I’ve been with her on my shoulders, traveling all around the world,” he divulged.
Dakota’s parents divorced, and both remarried and have other children. Her mother was once married to actor Antonio Banderas from 1996 to 2015. While at the Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Film Awards Gala in 2020, Antonio reminisced over his relationship with his former stepdaughter Dakota.
“She was 5 when I met her, when she became my family. I almost changed her nappies. She’s my daughter, I love her. I’ve been with her on my shoulders, traveling all around the world.”
On her part, Dakota has also said of her bond with her blended family, “I grew up in a family that was so big, and I just believe in the saying ‘Blood is thicker than water.'”
She talked more of her blended family in glowing terms, saying, “I have four brothers and two sisters, and my two sisters are not blood-related to each other, but they are sisters and they call each other sisters and they are always together. And my two older brothers are not blood-related to each other. And they are brothers.”
She talked about the family and how everyone is extremely talented, “Even the kids, they’re extraordinarily talented people. So you just are dealing with complex people. You grow and you embrace.”
Now, at 34 years old, Dakota still enjoys a blended family with her own partner.
She has been with Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, for a long time.
While the two of them keep their relationship incredibly private, some details usually emerge about them. One of the biggest rumors happens to be that the couple are actually engaged. The rumor came into effect when Dakota was sighted wearing a distinctive emerald ring on her ring finger.
A source shared about ther couple, “The couple got engaged a while ago and have kept the news private. But now they are being open about it with their circles. They have been besotted with each other from day one so taking this next step was inevitable.”
Earlier this year Dakota spoke about their relationship publicly for the first time, referring to Martin as her favorite being. The actress talked about what it feels like when she watches her man perform on stage, “I don’t know. I love watching him. I could watch him every day. Chris, of course, is a father of two children, whom he shares with actress Gwyneth Paltrow. It has been said that Gwyneth shares an amazing relationship with Dakota Johnson. The couple has even spent Thanksgiving together as a blended family.
On October 5, 2019, Paltrow took to Instagram to wish Dakota a happy birthday. She posted a picture of Dakota and wrote, “Happy 30th birthday to this absolute gem 💙.”
