In 2015, Sarah Paulson, 50, and Holland Taylor, 82, began dating. Since that time, the couple has been incredibly quiet about their romance despite tremendous public speculation.
Last year, Paulson revealed some details on a podcast about their relationship, and Taylor also gave a speech when Paulson recieved a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this week.
In the speech, the 82-year-old actress said, “Sarah, the actress, is first of all a wild creature in the animal kingdom. Warm blooded, instinctive, mysterious. And Sarah is dangerous — trust me in this — not dangerous like a snake, more like a mongoose.
She continued, “You know, those darling furry, little creatures that kill snakes. Nothing interferes with her laser perception of her character’s traits, its habitat, vulnerabilities, its heroism, its ugliness, terrible truths, its comic pathos. She zeros in to a story’s central struggle, where most of us aren’t even aware of our own.”
Taylor also described her partner as the ‘adventure you always wanted your life to be.’
She then commended Paulson on her acting chops, saying, “Her acting is as honest as a vow of faith and as complicated as chemistry. She’s not deceiving us—she is practicing magic, a hat trick in flesh and blood.”
She also spoke highly of Paulson as a person; she talked of the ‘many deep, long friendships, and her love for her extended family’.
She ended her praise of Paulson by saying, “Sometimes it’s hard to believe she’s an actress. She breaks the mould, throws assumptions out the window, does it her way. She will always surprise us. Hollywood does well to honour her.
“And just in case she doesn’t know it, she has a permanent shining star on my street. I love you, darling.”
