As the Beckham family feud spills further into the public eye, a long-forgotten interview from Brooklyn Beckham’s ex-girlfriend is drawing new attention to Victoria Beckham – just as tensions between mother and son reach a breaking point.
Just before spending Christmas with his wife’s family in Miami, Brooklyn – the 26-year-old son of football legend David Beckham and Spice Girl-turned-designer Victoria Beckham – reportedly blocked his parents three siblings on social media, insisting all communication go through legal representatives, the Daily Mail reports.
About one month later, on Jan. 19, Brooklyn – big brother to Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14 – shocked fans with a series of explosive Instagram posts where he accused his parents of years of control and manipulation.
In the now-viral post, Brooklyn wrote: “I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” he began.
‘Do not want to reconcile’
He went on to make a definitive break from his family, adding: “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life. For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family.”
Brooklyn also criticized what he described as performative behavior, writing: “The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”
“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” he continued, adding, “I’m not being controlled. I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
‘Humiliated’
Among his most personal accusations was a moment from his 2022 wedding to Nicola Peltz, which he said was “hijacked” by his mother. Brooklyn, a photographer and former model, alleged that Victoria “danced very inappropriately” during what was supposed to a romantic dance with his new wife.
“I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he wrote.
He also accused his family of saying that Nicola was “not blood” and “not family.”
“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable,” Brooklyn wrote.
Kids ‘allowed to make mistakes’
Victoria, 51, and David, 50, have not issued a direct response, but the legendary footballer offered what many interpreted as a veiled reply during a January interview with CNBC’s Squawk Box.
“They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids. You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well,” David said in the Jan. 20 interview.
The public unraveling of the Beckham family image has left fans stunned. But while the focus remains on Brooklyn’s present turmoil, interest has also turned to his past – including one of his most high-profile former relationships.
‘Awesome people’
From 2014 to 2018, Brooklyn dated actress Chloë Grace Moretz, now 28. According to People, the pair met at a SoulCycle class, dated on and off throughout their teenage years, and quickly became one of Hollywood’s most talked-about young couples.
At the time, Moretz was a rising young star known for Kick-Ass and Carrie, while Brooklyn, also just a teenager, was still building his public identity as the son of Britain’s most famous couple.
In a 2014 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Moretz opened up about what it was like to be part of the Beckham circle.
“[Victoria Beckham is] an amazing person I really admire her work ethic and I think that…I love her honestly, I love her line,” she told the host. “I think that as a family, they’re awesome people.”

‘Horrible and weird’
Later, she also praised their parenting, saying that “he’s a great dad, she’s a great mother. They genuinely are very good parents that’s what matters most, they made a pretty son,” she told Cohen.
But the relationship wasn’t always easy. In a 2016 interview with British InStyle, Moretz – who married model Kate Harrison after coming out as a gay woman in 2024 – admitted that dating someone from such a high-profile family was “horrible and weird.”
“It creates a mass frenzy,” she explained. “They follow you in separate cars so you can’t just run around and share little silly and cute moments.”
After the star of Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and Brooklyn split in 2018, she was asked if she had a message for her ex.
“I want nothing to be said…” she shared, according to Elle.
