Detail in Neil Sedaka’s birth certificate has everyone talking

The famous singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka died in Los Angeles on February 27. Now the cause of death has been revealed.

Neil Sedaka died in a Los Angeles hospital on February 27. The iconic singer-songwriter wrote many hits and performed throughout the 1950s and 60s. Hits included Oh! Carol, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do, Bad Blood, Laughter in the Rain, and Calendar Girl.

Over his career spanning more than 5 decades, the skilled pianist was also nominated for 5 Grammys. Neil Sedaka also had many of his hits performed by other artists, including Stupid Cupid and Love Will Keep Us Together. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983.

“Our family is devastated by the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather,” his family confirmed in a statement at the time.

TMZ reported after Neil Sedaka’s death that the songwriter was first recovering. However, sadly, his family released a statement saying he had died

Now, Neil Sedaka’s cause of death has been revealed. According to this death certificate, obtained by the NY Post, the singer-songwriter died from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, according to his death certificate.

The document also said that kidney failure was another cause that contributed to his death. On March 3, he was embalmed at the Hollywood Funeral Home and buried at Beth Olam Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.

Survived by wife and two children

According to the Cleveland Clinic, atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease happens when plaque builds up inside the arteries. It can include fat, cholesterol, and other substances. Over time, the arteries narrow, making it harder for blood to flow. This condition can lead to serious problems such as a heart attack or stroke.

Neil Sedaka is survived by his wife Leba Strassberg, whom he has been married to since 1962, and two children, daughter Dara, 62, and son Marc, 59.
