Shannon Elizabeth is proving that nostalgia still sells, and apparently, at a very high price with her latest move.

The actress, who became a late-’90s and early-2000s pop culture staple through films like American Pie and Scary Movie, is reportedly making a massive comeback in an entirely different corner of entertainment.
Earlier this month, the 52-year-old announced that she was joining an adult content platform, a move that immediately sparked intense reactions online.
And according to reports, the decision paid off almost instantly.
Elizabeth reportedly earned more than $1.2 million within her first seven days on the platform after officially launching her OnlyFans account on April 16.
The actress had quietly filed for divorce from her husband, Simon Borchert, just days before publicly unveiling the new venture.
Before her debut, Elizabeth also signed with Creators Inc., an agency that represents several top-earning online creators in the United States.
Andy Bachman, the company’s co-founder and Elizabeth’s manager, credited her early success to the strong connection she has maintained with fans throughout her career.

But online, many people had a much simpler explanation: Millennial nostalgia.
“I mean, people who have a crush on her as a teen are adults with money to spend now,” one person wrote.
As news of her reported earnings spread, social media quickly filled with reactions from people who grew up watching Elizabeth during the peak of her Hollywood fame.
For many Millennials, she became a defining screen presence after playing Nadia in American Pie, a role that helped turn her into one of the era’s biggest fantasy figures almost overnight.
She later expanded her career through movies like Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Tomcats, Love Actually, and Thirteen Ghosts, while also appearing on reality TV and poker tournaments during the 2000s.
Still, her mainstream acting opportunities slowed significantly in recent years.
That reality shaped much of the online reaction to her latest career move.
“Must be nostalgia. I didn’t see her making this much,” another X user added.
Others defended Elizabeth’s decision entirely, arguing that Hollywood often sidelines actresses as they age while online creator platforms offer far more financial control and independence.
One person wrote, “Hollywood couldn’t pay her what the internet did in 7 days.”
Ahead of her debut, Elizabeth opened up about the decision during an interview with People.
The actress explained that she had grown frustrated with the limitations of Hollywood and no longer wanted other people controlling her image or career direction. Elizabeth’s most recent film appearance came in the 2024 romantic comedy Plan B, while her last television role dates back to 2018.
Speaking about the transition, she said she was ready to take ownership of her career in a completely different way.
“This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a more se*y side no one has seen, and being closer to my fans,” she said.
