Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK has sparked a lot of emotions. King Charles is said to be thrilled, while the same canät be said about Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, reports now suggest the future king and queen already have a savage plan to deal with the Sussexes’ return.
The report that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were planning a return to the UK with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, sent shockwaves through the royal sphere.
The Sussexes have already left their life in California and, last week, arrived back in Britain. Even more striking, it has been claimed that their children have already been enrolled at a new school.
As of now, it’s unclear what prompted the couple to leave sunny California with their children. Meanwhile, their last tenure in the UK, then as working members of the royal family, ended on a bad note.
After all the interviews and Harry’s Spare book, making claims about what went on inside the palace walls and between them and other members of the Royal Family, it’s safe to say that the relationship with the Firm is not good.
Even more, the relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton and the Sussexes is nonexistent. The brothers have reportedly not spoken for years, as William still feels his brother betrayed him and the other royals by spilling details that were supposed to be kept in the family.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s UK return
But it’s a new reality now. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back in the UK, and one might imagine that they could be making amends with both King Charles and Camilla as well as with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
But in the last few days, it appears that won’t happen, at least according to experts.
Speaking with US Magazine, royal expert and author Christoper Andersen claimed that William and Kate could be “tearing their hair out.”
“By returning to the UK, the Sussexes will inevitably suck up all the oxygen in the room,” the expert said. “They will generate countless tabloid stories and take the focus away from other members of the Royal family, which is a major no-no. King Charles and Queen Camilla, in particular, don’t like to be upstaged, and the same goes for William.”
As Harry and Meghan return, some expect William and Kate will extend an olive branch. But according to a friend of the Prince and Princess of Wales, that is not going to happen. Instead, sources say they have a plan for when Harry and Meghan show up: Do nothing – see nothing – comment nothing.
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s savage plan to deal with Prince Harry and Meghan
The source told the Daily Mail royal correspondent Richard Kay that William and Kate intend to carry on with their lives and focus on their royal duties rather than reconnecting with the Duke and Duchess.
An anonymous friend of William and Kate’s, cited by the Daily Mail, said, “It makes no difference if Harry and Meghan are in Oxfordshire, California or Timbuktu. William and Kate will continue their lives of public service. They intend to lead by example.”
Richard Kay continued, “I would have thought that in the first instance there would be a private meeting between Harry and William and presumably Catherine and Meghan too where they can sort of hammer out some kind of official line.”
The royal expert continued by claiming that as future king, William is responsible for a possible reunion. However, not at any cost.
“His responsibility to the monarchy, to the institution, has to take first place, so he’ll have to put whatever personal differences he has to one side,” Kay explained.
“Derailed them”
Another royal source, speaking to Vanity Fair, said that Prince William will be “watching over his shoulder” as he moves on.
“He doesn’t know what his brother is going to spring on them all next,” the source said. “This was meant to be a happy time for him. Catherine is doing well, and George is about to start Eton. This has just derailed them.”
In other words, Harry and Meghan’s return to Britain does not appear to have changed the situation between the two couples. And for Harry, that could be particularly painful.
Meanwhile, a Mirror source stated that William and King Charles are “completely united” about not letting Harry and Meghan back into the royal fold, not least after years of “smearing” the Royal Family.
Moreover, friends of William and Kate told the Mirror last week that they “can’t forgive” Harry and Meghan for what they have done.
“Obviously the Sussexes’ return will make inevitable headlines for a few days, but it has no bearing on the prince and princess’ life moving forward,” one source said.
“If anything, events that have affected them over the past couple of years have made them even more determined to concentrate on what is important to them, their family, their public roles and the ability to provide generational change for good with their public roles, and look forward to the future.”
