Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have arrived back in the UK. The couple’s return has sparked a lot of reactions. And now, new details about Meghan’s demands on her UK home have come to light. Safe to say, she doesn’t want a one-bedroom apartment.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left royal life behind six years ago, but now, the Sussexes have made a shocking return to the UK. A few weeks ago, reports emerged about their move back to England.
The couple have reportedly already enrolled Archie and Lilibet in British schools and are expected to live in a non-royal home outside London.
How the royals feel about the Duke and Duchess’ return isn’t officially known. However, it didn’t take long before whispers from inside the palace walls came to light.
King Charles is reportedly delighted to have his son back in the UK, especially as it means he can spend more time with his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
But not everyone in the Royal Family is said to be pleased about the return. According to reports, Prince William may not be quite as happy to see his brother back.
Royal family’s reaction to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s UK move
Royal expert and author Christoper Andersen told US Magazine, “For starters, I can only imagine that William and Kate are tearing their hair out. They have so much on their plate as it is trying to shore up the monarchy and propel it into the future; they don’t really need to cope with having Harry and Megan on their proverbial doorstep.”
“By returning to the UK, the Sussexes will inevitably suck up all the oxygen in the room,” the expert added.
“They will generate countless tabloid stories and take the focus away from other members of the Royal family, which is a major no-no. King Charles and Queen Camilla, in particular, don’t like to be upstaged, and the same goes for William.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to be keeping their $15 million mansion in Montecito, California despite the UK move. How long they will stay is unknown, but for now they are at a wealthy friend’s property on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Meghan’s wild demands for their new UK home
However, it’s safe to say that the Duchess appears to have very specific demands about what their new home should be like.
Sources close to the couple say Meghan knows exactly what she wants for their new home, including 9 bedrooms. Interestingly, that is the same number of bedrooms as their U.S home.
According to a Daily Mail source, the former Suits star has some very specific demands. In addition to the nine bedrooms, she wants a private film studio so she can continue to run her As Ever brand from the UK. Humorously, the brand doesn’t ship products to Britain yet.
One source claimed Meghan “won’t be able to resist building a film studio at their new home” and will end up “home-making content” once she has settled in. The source added, “That is the heart of who she is.”
So what about Harry? The Daily Mail source claimed that he has another vision, seeking a large amount of land and complete privacy. Their budget? The insider says it’s “gargantuan.”
“He wants a lot”
Harry is believed to wish his children to have an “outdoorsy and sporting ethos” in their schooling. Therefore, he wants their home to reflect it by having a lot of land.
“He wants a lot, and I mean a lot, of land,” the source said, per Express, adding that Harry doesn’t want any public footpaths running across the property for security.
As of now, there is no deal in place for a new home for the Sussexes. Time will tell when they will find a new home for their family, but one thing is certain: There can’t be too many prospects to choose from if the nine bedrooms are going to be a reality.
