The actor is no stranger to body art. But one design on his left forearm has recently caught the attention of fans.
At first glance, the tattoo looks fairly simple. It features an outline of a man, with the word “Invictus” written underneath.
One curious fan took to Twitter and asked Grok if it could explain what the tattoo was supposed to mean, writing: “Hey @grok what’s the secret meaning behind this tattoo?,” according to UNILAD.
According to the AI chatbot, the mysterious figure is actually Ötzi the Iceman.
Grok explained: “It’s Brad Pitt’s left forearm ink. The stick figure is an outline of Ötzi the Iceman (5300-year-old Alpine mummy, himself tattooed).”
Ötzi has become one of the most famous ancient mummies ever discovered. He lived more than 5,000 years ago and was found by hikers in the Alps in 1991.

Since his discovery, researchers have learned an extraordinary amount about his life and final days, including details about his last meal and the violent circumstances surrounding his death.
Ötzi’s mummy, along with the artifacts discovered with him, has been displayed at the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano, Italy, since 1998.
And then there’s the word beneath the figure.
Grok explained that “‘Invictus’ is Latin for unconquered” and connected the word to William Ernest Henley’s poem of the same name, which centers on resilience and remaining in control of one’s fate despite hardship.
However, there is one important detail missing from the explanation: Pitt himself has not given a deeper personal explanation for the tattoo.
For now, that leaves the meaning of the unusual piece of ink open to interpretation.
