In the video, during a performance of her song Serena Joy, Olivia Rodrigo is seen wiping her hands under her armpits before seemingly running them through her hair.
The moment quickly gained attention, with some viewers criticizing the singer. Some described the gesture as unhygienic.
“I’ve never seen someone use armpit sweat to style their hair,” an X user, who shared the clip from TikTok, wrote.
“This made me almost throw up,” one user wrote, while a second added, “This is so disgusting.”
A third added, “She is clearly trying to be cool and edgy, but this is just nasty and unhygienic. And in front of people too like.. ew girl.”
