Owner drags terrified pup into shelter by a rope to leave her there for good

Contrary to popular belief, owning a pet is not a right, but a privilege. Animals are living, breathing creatures who feel pain and joy as much as we do, and if we choose to adopt, we must adopt responsibly.

However, sometimes circumstances change. We may find ourselves in a position in which we are no longer able to care for them. Then, we must find a way to find them a new home responsibly.

Of course, there are always cases in which owners are simply irresponsible and don’t care for their pets and neglect them.

Hopefully, this isn’t the case as it’s seen in this video.

This is the heartbreaking scene of a dog being dragged by a hope into a shelter by her owners. She’s visibly terrified and doesn’t want to go inside. She knows what this means: she won’t have a home.

Since the video was posted on social media, it’s been widely shared, and people have been outraged by the treatment of the animal. In fact, she’s so scared that one woman has to pick her up and carry her inside. However, we must remember that, while it’s sad that this dog had to go back to a shelter, we don’t know the circumstances that led to her owners relinquishing her. It must also be said that at least they are doing so in a responsible manner.

However, luckily enough for this pup named Maya, one woman saw the pain she was in and decided to help.

Stacey Silverstein, co-founder of Rescue Dogs Rock in New York, reached out to the shelter to see if she could take Maya in. So, Maya will be on her way to New York once she gets all her shots. She’s still an anxious pup, but with the love and the affection of her caretakers, she’s been slowly recovering from the ordeal.

She can even go on a walk on a leash, even though it still may be uncomfortable at times.

Thankfully, Maya is well on her way to finding her forever home and a loving family!

Pet owners may be outraged by this video, but what’s important is that Maya is healthy and has a bright future ahead of her. Please share if you agree!
