Mila Kunis talked about her hygiene on a 2021 episode of Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert. During the episode, she admitted to her hygiene habits and said, “I don’t wash my body with soap every day. But I wash pits and tits and holes and soles.”
Kutcher joined in on the discussion and said, “I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever. I got a bar of Lever 2000 that just delivers every time. Nothing else.”
The couple also admitted that they do not bathe their children every day. This part of the conversation really went viral. The discussion gained so much momentum that fellow celebrities, including Dwayne Johnson and Cardi, also weighed in on the issue.
About 4.5 years later, now Ashton Kutcher is sharing how out of hand the internet noise had gotten. This year, speaking in an interview with Anthony Ramos and Jeremy Pope he said, “It was the craziest thing of all time. We made a comment at one point, and people were like, ‘Does he stink? Does he smell?'”
The actor then explained what he meant to his co-stars, who might have been confused.
He said, “There was a comment on a podcast, so long ago … and people are like, ‘They don’t shower.’ I’m like, ‘I shower, I go to the gym, I shower.'”
Ramos was quick to back his co-star and shared how he does indeed shower.
In another interview, Kunis explained further how the ‘doors are always open in [their] house’, including the one for the bathroom – something that has helped them all normalise ‘bodily functions’.
Kunis added, “We have no closed doors in our house and that includes the bathroom. It’s just one of those where, for better or for worse, as a family and the kids have all kind of embodied bodily function as a very standard norm.”
She went on, “I’d never thought that I would be the person that was able to go to the bathroom with the door open.”
She said how even when she shut the door it ‘never made a difference’ as her family would continually knock on the front door ‘every two seconds’.
