Barron Trump was kept outside the spotlight as his father, Donald Trump, campaigned nationwide in the run up to the 2024 Presidential Election.
Afterwards, however, it was made clear that the 18-year-old had played a crucial part in the former media mogul’s return to the White House. But it turns out that Barron did more than give some advice regarding how to swing the younger vote during the campaign, with a new book revealing the true extent of what he did for his father.
Barron Trump is back in New York City after a decade or so of living in Washington and Palm Beach. The youngest son of Donald Trump lived with his parents at the White House during their first term in Washington. When the Trumps departed in 2021, they settled at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.
Barron continued his studies, graduating from high school in May last year. The search to find the right college for him was long, but in the end, Barron and his family settled for Stern Business School at New York University.
Barron didn’t make a lot of headlines during his years at the White House, nor during his high school years in Palm Beach. The now 18-year-old wasn’t seen in public at his father’s side during the presidential campaign, but when Donald Trump secured victory in the 2024 election, Barron showed up alongside his mother, Melania Trump, to celebrate.
During the Inauguration, Barron was praised for his conduct around former presidents and elite politicians. Some Trump supporters even touted him as a future president.

Still, not much is known about Barron and his personality. As a result, many were probably surprised when luxury styling service Bespoke Pearce’s chief executive officer, Nathan Pearce – who helped the president’s son select several suits, dress shirts, and a cashmere overcoat for the Inauguration – spoke out about it.
In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Pearce revealed some interesting things about Barron. Because of his private life, some might believe that the youngster is relatively closed and quiet. However, according to Pearce, that is far from the truth.
“He’s this super-bright kid. He’s well beyond his years in terms of experience, knowledge, history. He’s just very fascinating to talk to,” he told Women’s Wear Daily.
“You know what is another word I would say [about him]? Hospitable. He is down-to-earth, nice as can be and hospitable,” Pearce continued, recalling how Barron shook his hand when they first met, thanking him multiple times when he arrived at Mar-a-Lago. The youngster even offered to show the stylist around the Palm Beach estate.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know him over the last one or two years,” Pearce explained. He added that he didn’t take Trump’s business for granted, wanting him to be very happy with his outfit.
“I recognize that Barron Trump could be choosing from tailors all over the world, and he chose me and Pearce Bespoke. I’m super-grateful and super-proud of that,” Pearce added.

Donald Trump might not be highly regarded where his sense of humor is concerned, but that idea is a debate for another time. However, it appears that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, with Pearce labeling Barron’s humor ‘dry.’
“He’s hilarious. But as I said, he’s super-sharp. You put him in a room with star businessmen and he will hold his own. He can talk to them all day because he’s witty, smart and has a dry sense of humor,” the stylist concluded.
“I tell my franchisers and clothiers across the country, ‘Look, I’m not anything special. It’s just a matter of taking care of your clients. You can meet the right client at the right time, who loves their clothes and shows them off to the right people.”
“If you’ve done your job and you’ve made them happy, they will tell the world about you. If you don’t, and you drop the ball and forget about customer service, they still tell the world about you,” he added.
Barron Trump’s appearance on Inauguration Day was a huge success. When Donald spoke to his supporters in Capital One Arena later that day, he praised his youngest son for his efforts during the campaign. Although it didn’t show in public, Barron made sure to help his father win the election by sharing some well-needed advice on how to reach younger voters.
Speaking with the Daily Mail, Donald Trump revealed that Barron helped him connect with Gen Z voters through influences and podcasters.
“He is — he knows so much about it. Adin Ross — you know, I mean I do — some people that I wasn’t so familiar with. Different generation. He knows every one of them. And we’ve had tremendous success, as you know,” Trump told the UK news outlet in early September.
Praised by Donald
“We did three unusual — and I don’t know what you’d call them but it’s a platform — with three people that I don’t know, but three people that Barron knows very well,” Trump said.
“[He] actually calls all of them like friends of his because it’s a different generation.”
Trump continued: “They don’t grow up watching television the same way as we did. They grow up looking at the internet or watching a computer. But Barron knew them.”
When his father introduced him to a cheering crowd on Inauguration Day, Donald asked the crowd if they had heard of his “tall son.”
“He knew the youth vote. You know we won the youth vote by 36 points,” Trump said. “He was saying,’ dad, I got to go out and to this and that one and we did a lot of them. He respects them all, he understood it very well, he said’ dad, you got to go out and do Joe Rogan, all these guys that we did. They were all great, right? Barron, they were all great.”
But this wasn’t the only thing Barron Trump helped his father with during the presidential campaign. A new book by Axios reporter Alex Isenstadt reveals how much the 18-year-old was involved in his father’s pursuit of a second term at the White House.
Barron Trump gave his father advice before debate with Joe Biden, new book claims
In June, Trump’s opponent looked to be Joe Biden, who later decided to step out of the race for the presidency. But before one of their debates, Barron gave his father some well-needed advice, according to Isenstadt’s book Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump’s Return to Power.
“Barron, now a teenager, told him he flapped his gums too much last time and needed to let Biden do more of the talking,” Isenstadt wrote, as quoted by the Daily Mail. “Flapping your gums’ is a derogatory, colloquial term for talking too much, too often and without substance.”
The author added: “Trump listened to his son, who was expressing some interest in politics and a willingness to be more public after being shielded from the cameras during the White House years.”
The entire Trump family once again gathered in Washington in early March as Donald held his address to Congress. However, Barron was nowhere to be seen. His half-siblings, Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump, were all in attendance, as well as Melania. Barron likely couldn’t attend because of school, but although he isn’t living in Washington for this Trump term, he is, of course, always welcome to visit.
“He will come and visit, yes,” Melania told Fox in January. “I feel that children we have them feel they are like 18, 19 years old. We teach them, we guide them. And then we give them the wings to fly. And I always respect Barron’s yes and no and what he likes to do, where he would like to be.”
“I’m very proud of what he grew up to”
On Barron’s choice of Stern Business School, the First Lady said: “It was his decision to come here that he wants to be in New York and study in New York and live in his home, and I respect that,” adding that he graduated as an “incredible young man.”
“I’m very proud of what he grew up to,” Melania continued. “His strength. His intelligence. His knowledge, his kindness. It’s admirable.”
Needless to say, Barron has created a lot of fuss on campus in New York. In February he unfortunately became the center of attention even though he hadn’t done or said anything. Vanity Fair published an article in which the president of NYU’s College Republican Club, Kaya Walker, labeled Barron “an oddity.” She was forced to resign after her comments went viral, with many Republicans reportedly left furious.
Secret Service agents are with the president’s son every step of each day, from leaving his home at Trump Tower until he returns. That alone could probably be frightening to many. However, Barron may have a clever trick to ensure he appears approachable.
He is said to carry a black backpack to school, and although it’s necessary for keeping pens, notebooks, and computers safe, there could also be a hidden reason behind it. On TikTok, one user claimed that there is a specific reason Barron carries the $88 backpack wherever he goes.
“As Trump’s son, and the future heir, Barron is worth hundreds of millions of dollars, but he always carries an inexpensive black school bag. Barron lived a life of luxury from childhood. He was raised by Melania, and had a life of ease and plenty since he was a child;” the user wrote, per Express.
Why Barron carry a black backpack on campus
“However, no one would believe that under Trump’s guidance, Barron is very thrifty in private. Since he entered college, he has been carrying an $88 black school bag, which makes Barron look more like an ordinary student.
“It enables him to keep a low profile, and be more approachable in public, and allows him to participate in various activities more comfortably. In addition, since Trump became President, he has been opposed to extravagance and waste and has even donated his own money to charity at times.”
The user on TikTok concluded: “In order to follow in Trump’s footsteps, Barron has always kept a low profile. Even at the age of 18, he has never bought luxury goods. To some extent, this can also better shape Barron’s positive image, prepare him for being the heir in the future and play a positive role in the overall image of the Trump family.”
