Everyone loves to be complimented, but there’s just some things that are better left unsaid.
Jennifer Aniston recently say down with British Vogue and explained the one compliment she’s never thrilled about receiving.
“You look great for your age. It drives me bananas, I can’t stand it,” she said.
Aniston, 54, said society has “markers” for different stages and ages, and it’s how people determine if a person acts or looks how they believe they should for their age.
But to the former Friends star, it doesn’t make sense.
“I don’t even understand what it means. I’m in better shape than I was in my 20s. I feel better in mind, body, and spirit. It’s all 100 percent better.”
Her comments about the kinds of compliments we give one another come after she shared a video on social media promoting her LolaVie haircare product while sporting gray roots.
Many found it refreshing that The Morning Show star wasn’t afraid to show off her gray hair.
In the short clip Aniston wears a half up-half down hairstyle which shows off her gray roots.
“Well done for allowing grey to come through – refreshing,” one person wrote on Instagram.
“Your grey hair is BEAUTIFUL!! It suits you so much and makes your eyes pop even more,” another commented.
And of course there were some who were not a fan of her roots showing.
“Grey hair doesn’t suit you yet. Save it for later plz,” one user wrote.
How have we still not learned about keeping things to ourselves if they’re not nice?
