Kat Timpf, 36, has always been known for her bold humor and unapologetic opinions, but when it comes to her love life, she’s kept things under wraps.
Her past reluctance to marry fueled rumors about her sexuality, but now the Fox News star has found the one – a military veteran.
Gutfeld! co-host Katherine ”Kat” Clare Timpf is a familiar face to Fox viewers and she has also made significant contributions as an author.
With her sharp political insights and signature humor, she’s not only carved out a unique space in the media world but also managed to balance her personal life with impressive grace.
Kat Timpf is from Detroit, Michigan, and was born on October 29, 1988. She graduated magna cum laude from Hillsdale College with a degree in English and as a young woman, Kat seemed to be on the path to a bright future.
Struggling in Los Angeles
After college, she moved to Los Angeles, but things didn’t go as she had hoped.
”When I came to Los Angeles out of college, I was struggling. I worked at Boston Market waiting tables and I lived in a really crappy apartment, and then I couldn’t afford that apartment, so I had to move in with this bartender I was kind of sort of seeing,” Timpf told LA Times.
Her salvation came through comedy and stand-up.
”I was really struggling trying to do what I am doing now. I had done stand-up one time before, so I started doing comedy in L.A. because I was going through so much rough stuff. I found that it was really helpful to get onstage and make fun of the things making me feel powerless. It gave me a sense of power over it,” she said.
After her time in Los Angeles, Timpf moved a lot and eventually came to Washington, D.C., where she began her career as a digital editor for The Washington Times.
She went on to become a news anchor for NASA’s Third Rock Radio, and also worked as a producer and reporter at Total Traffic Network in Santa Ana, California.
The pundit and comedian has contributed to several publications, including The Orange County Register and Investor’s Business Daily.
As a stand-up comic, she has performed at comedy clubs across the country, including Gotham Comedy Club in New York and the Improv in Los Angeles.
Kat Timpf’s big break at Fox News came on May 1, 2017, when she became a co-host for Fox News Specialists, alongside Eric Bolling and Eboni K. Williams.
Working with Tyrus
While the show was short-lived, being canceled in September 2017 after Bolling’s dismissal due to alleged sexual misconduct, it marked a major step in Timpf’s career at the network.
Timpf’s visibility grew as she became a regular on Gutfeld! But how did she end up on the show in the first place?
”I made a video at a feminist conference that became popular. He saw me on a show doing an interview about it, so he asked me to be on “Red Eye”. My background in stand-up comedy helped me on “Red Eye.” We had a good banter going back and forth, so then when he got his new show he asked me to be on it,” Timpf explained.
In February 2023, Kat announced on Gutfeld! that her debut book, You Can’t Joke About That, was about to be released.
The book, which hit the shelves in April 2023, quickly became a New York Times Bestseller. Timpf’s second book, I Used to Like You Until…, followed in 2024, solidifying her position as both a media personality and a successful author.
Additionally, Timpf served as a regular host for Fox News Saturday Night throughout 2023, further establishing her influential role at Fox News. She has also co-hosted a weekly Tyrus and Timpf podcast with professional wrestler Tyrus.
Short-lived romance with a woman
Kat Timpf is a self-described libertarian who doesn’t fit into the typical political boxes. The TV personality is not a MAGA supporter and has been openly critical of Donald Trump in the past, even quipping to Variety, “Trump? My guy who I’ve never even voted for?”
Timpf’s views on her own identity are just as nuanced. She refuses to be labeled strictly as heterosexual, offering a hilarious twist in her book I Used to Like You Until …: (How Binary Thinking Divides Us). She recounts a short-lived romance with a woman, only for it to be derailed by the woman’s mother. Plot twist: the mother wasn’t a Bible-thumping Evangelical Christian but “a very, very, very feminist gender studies professor” who was horrified by her daughter’s involvement with a popular Fox News personality.
“I don’t want to be graphic, but, um, I wasn’t being anti-woman,” Timpf shared, reflecting on what happened behind closed doors.
Timpf was raised as a Roman Catholic and was deeply devoted to her faith until the age of 17, when she began to drift away from it.
Today, she believes in a limited government, no interference in economic policy, and allowing individuals to make their own social decisions.
Timpf explains, “There’s something about me for everyone to hate, but also something for everyone to agree on.”
She adds that she has friends across the political spectrum and finds it sad that we live in a culture where people are often quick to dismiss others based on one viewpoint or even an association, without taking the time to understand the person and the other things they might have in common.
Dated a famous rapper
Kat Timpf never imagined herself as the marrying type.
For years, she was convinced that marriage and kids weren’t in the cards for her, and she wasn’t looking for anything serious.
“I was completely against it,” she admitted, even questioning whether monogamy was something she truly believed in.
She did date, though, and in her book, she reveals a past relationship with an unnamed rapper. At one point, he even posted a photo of her wearing his sweatpants in his hotel room — only to delete it moments later, not wanting to be linked to a Fox News personality.
Kat Timpf husband
Today, however, Kat has found a man who would never dream of being ashamed of her. In 2020, Timpf announced her engagement to Cameron Friscia.
Kat and Cameron first connected on the dating app Raya. At first, she hesitated to go on a date with him — he seemed almost too perfect, too polished, and not at all like the type she usually went for. Her past relationships had been with a different kind of guy, but she decided to give Cameron a chance. And luckily, it didn’t take long for them to fall head over heels for each other.
“He’s just the right guy,” Kat shared during an interview on Bill Maher‘s podcast and added: “He’s very cool, he’s very secure in himself.”
Apparently, Cameron Friscia works in finance. He holds a master’s degree from Indiana University and currently makes a liv ing as an investment banker, according to his LinkedIn. Friscia, who is a former Army Ranger, also completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
Inside her wedding
In 2022, Kat took to Instagram and posted a birthday tribute to her beloved husband, reflecting on how she had initially misjudged him.
”I never thought a finance bro could be so loving, giving, patient & understanding, but u prove me wrong every day,” she wrote.
Kat and Cameron tied the knot on May 1, 2021. The intimate ceremony, with around 30 guests in attendance, was officiated by Fox News contributor and Kennedy host Lisa Kennedy Montgomery.
Timpf described marriage as ”the best feeling in the world,” according to People.
For someone who once swore off marriage and motherhood, meeting Cameron Friscia completely changed Kat Timpf’s perspective on life.
”I never, ever wanted kids, nor did I understand why anyone ever would,” she admitted. ”But now, being with him, I feel like I could have his kids, so we will maybe probably do that in a few years.”
Thought she might miscarry
On July 31, 2024, Timpf shared the exciting news in an Instagram post and a Fox News op-ed, announcing that she and Friscia were expecting their first child.
Later, Kat wrote that never expected to get pregnant — especially not naturally. And even when she did, she feared she might miscarry.
”I mean, I am 35, which makes mine a geriatric pregnancy, medically speaking,” she noted. ”If you listen to some of the dudes in the comments section, you’d be shocked a 35-year-old woman found anyone to have sex with her at all!”
Even the moment she found out she was expecting played out differently than she had imagined. In her mind, she would wake her husband, he’d sit up abruptly, look at the test, and they’d be swept up in an unforgettable, life-changing embrace.
Reality, however, had its own plans. In fact, Kat struggled to wake Cameron up, and when she finally managed to, he squinted at the test, said he couldn’t really see the line, and just rolled back over to sleep.
Kat hasn’t shared the news of her baby’s arrival on social media just yet, so we’ll have to wait a little longer to catch a glimpse of the little bundle of joy she and Cameron are adding to their lives. In the meantime, we wish her and her growing family all the love and happiness on their beautiful journey ahead!
