Kate Beckinsale likes to defy age stereotypes, and her recent 50th birthday celebrations are no different!
The British actress embraced her inner Playboy bunny by sporting a black sequined bodysuit, ripped tights, classic Playboy bunny ears, bow tie, and sleeve cuffs.
Even after her birthday, the party continued as she joined her friend to celebrate his birthday. The Underworld looked stunning in photos alongside friends who also donned Playboy attire.
Taking to Instagram on her special day, Beckinsale shared her excitement about getting older, captioning a set of images of herself and her friends with different animals: “Getting old is f***ing great. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the most magical day full of joy and love and dear dear friends and the odd bird (not me but also me).”
Beckinsale has continuously refuted rumors of plastic surgery to maintain her appearance, telling The Sunday Times: “I haven’t had any. I’m not against people having it. [But] I do get pissed off. It’s sort of a given that I’ve had it, which I just literally haven’t.”
She added: “I’m frightened of paralyzing my face. My mum’s voice is in my head, very loud, at all times. My mum wouldn’t even get a facial, she is suspicious of anything like that, and looks f***ing radiant and amazing. I know if I did do Botox, I’d be the one that would get the droopy eye, and my mum would go, ‘I f***ing told you! See? You should never do that.’”
Beckinsale – who shares a daughter with ex partner Michael Sheen – has been in the spotlight for dating younger men, including comedians Pete Davidson, 29, and Matt Rife, 27. She expressed frustration over the double standard that women face in such relationships, while men are often not questioned about their choices.
“I witness men constantly doing whatever they like, whether that’s in relationships, or deciding to buy a motorbike, or getting a tattoo,” she told Women’s Health in 2020. “It hasn’t been interpreted as, ‘Why hasn’t he had more children?’ or ‘Is he ever going to decide to become a parent?’ or ‘Why has he had so many girlfriends?’
“It can feel like a little bit of a political act to be a woman over 32 who’s having any fun at all,” she continued. “And by that, I don’t mean doing drugs and drinking and partying, because I never am, but being goofy, and going out, and not going, ‘Oh my God, I’m going to sit home and anticipate menopause while crocheting.’ Unless you’re doing that, it somehow seems to be risqué, which is just ridiculous to me.”
Good on you, Kate!
