Madonna dances to ‘Lucky Star’ in honor of debut album’s 40th anniversary weeks after major health scare

Madonna is sharing an update on her health one month after being hospitalized for a “serious” bacterial infection.

The 64-year-old pop icon also thanked her “lucky stars” for all their support over the years as she also took a moment to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her debut album, Madonna.

“To be able to move my body and dance just a little bit makes me feel like the Luckiest Star in the world!” she wrote.

“Thank you to all of my fans and friends!” she continued. “You must be my lucky stars too! And Happy 40th Birthday to my very. First Album- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.”

In the short clip which was shared on Instagram, Madonna danced around to her hit “Lucky Star.”

The brief health update comes one month after news broke that Madonna had been rushed to a New York City hospital following a “a serious bacterial infection.”

The singer spent several days in the ICU before being discharged from the hospital and ordered to rest at home.

Madonna broke her silence on July 10 by updating fans on her condition and officially postponing her North American tour which was supposed to begin July 15.

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children,” the “Like A Prayer” singer shared on social media. “My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone.” 

“My focus now is my health and getting stronger and I assure you, I’ll be back with you as soon as I can! The current plan is to reschedule the North American leg of the tour and to begin in October in Europe. I couldn’t be more grateful for your care and support,” she concluded.
