Liam Neeson criticizes ‘The View’ after ’embarrassing’ segment left him feeling ‘uncomfortable’

What is it that when we’re around our crush we suddenly don’t know how to act?

Liam Neeson, and a lot of other people, would like to know.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the Taken actor spoke about his appearance on The View where it was made very clear that Joy Behar had a crush, maybe even an obsession with Neeson.

“Am I blushing? I’m speechless at this point,” the co-host said after a video of clips of her talking about her love for the actor played.

While Neeson played it cool during the segment, he later revealed the interaction made him uncomfortable.

“Our segment starts and it’s just all this BS with Joy [Behar] and Liam Neeson and having a crush.”

Prior to joining the women onstage he was in the dressing room watching the show. During a commercial break he joined them and congratulated them on having such an important discussion, gun violence in America.

And then things took a turn.

While they were all gathered around the table, co-host Sunny Hostin said “it’s no secret Joy thinks you’re the hottest and the greatest ever.”

The show then aired several clips of Behar over the years talking about Neeson, including a time she expressed her desire to have her “ashes sprinkled over Liam Neeson.”

Most laughed, except for one person.

“I’ve known Whoopi for years and Joy a little bit, but I just wasn’t impressed.”

“I’m uncomfortable in those situations, you know?”

Despite the awkwardness, Neeson said he did carry on a “good, intelligent conversation” with Hostin, but still “the segment’s all about this — oof —thirteen, fourteen-year-old crush. It’s just a bit embarrassing.”

Yikes! That was awkward.

There’s a time and place for everything, and showing that clip on national television while the person was seated next you was most definitely not the place.
