Marie Osmond is celebrating her 12th wedding anniversary and shared a sweet tribute to her husband Steve Craig.
The singer and actress, a member of the musical Osmond family, is best known for her hit song “Paper Roses” and for hosting the variety show Donny & Marie with her brother Donny Osmond from 1976 to 1979.
Marie and her husband have an interesting history together. Steve was her first husband: they married in 1982 before Marie filed for divorce in 1985. The couple had one child together, Stephen James Craig, born in 1983.
In 1986, Osmond married her second husband, Brian Blosil. The couple had two kids together and adopted five children. They divorced in 2007.
Marie then got back together with her first husband: she and Steve remarried in 2011, and have been going strong ever since.
“Happy 12 Anniversary to the love of my life!” Marie wrote in an Instagram post yesterday.
Marie said it was their son who brought them back together: “Some things I guess were just always meant to be, and time makes you grow up and appreciate things,” she told ET in 2011. “Life is good, you know?”
She reportedly wore the same dress she wore for their first wedding back in 1982.
“I was cleaning out my garage and all of a sudden this box showed up in this pile of stuff … and it was this dress and it was five days ago. I’m not kidding. Isn’t that crazy? I can’t breathe, but I’m in it.”
The two got married on May 4 — a date they chose for a special symbolic reason: it is the birthday of Marie’s mother as well as her adopted son Michael, who tragically committed suicide in 2010 at the age of 18. Michael had reportedly battled depression and addiction.
Marie said she chose their birthdays to be her wedding anniversary to “symbolically have them with us in spirit when we remarried,” she wrote on Instagram.
