Marie Osmond, born Olive Marie Osmond on October 13, 1959, is an American singer, actress, author, and television personality. She grew up in Ogden, Utah as the eighth of nine children in the well-known musical family, The Osmonds. While her brothers became famous in the 1970s, Marie carved out her own path in the entertainment world.
She first gained fame when she was just a teenager. Marie released her first solo single "Paper Roses" in 1973. Her hit topped country music charts and helped her gain recognition as a solo artist, separate from her family's group. In addition to her music career, Marie Osmond became a household name through her work on television. She co-hosted a popular variety show, called Donny & Marie, alongside her brother Donny Osmond.
