Michael Bublé gets choked up as son accompanies him on piano

Michael Bublé is known for his soulful voice and timeless love songs, but recently, the Grammy-winning singer found himself at the center of a touching moment – one that had nothing to do with sold-out arenas or standing ovations.

Instead, it was a quiet, heartfelt surprise from his 11-year-old son, Noah, that left him visibly moved.

In 2016, Michael Bublé’s world was turned upside down when his son Noah was diagnosed with liver cancer at just three years old.

Bublé and his wife, Luisana Lopilato, share four children, Cielo, 2, Vida, 6, Elias, 9 and big brother Noah, 11.

And when the 49-year-old Canadian crooner learned his first born had cancer, he shared in a statement that he and Lopilato were “devastated.”

“Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well,” he said.

In a later interview, the “Haven’t Met You Yet” singer opened up about the moment they received the diagnosis.

“The worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent, and as maybe a human being,” he said, according to People. “I much rather would have it have been me. Many times, I wish that it had been.”

Following 18 months of treatment, Noah went into remission.

“I don’t wish that kind of pain upon any human being, but I do feel that when you’ve truly suffered, when you’ve truly felt fear and loss, it allows you to live a deeper life,” the doting dad of four told People about his intention to be a fully involved father.

Fast forward to today, and Noah is a happy, healthy 11-year-old with a bright future ahead of him. Not only has he overcome incredible odds, but he’s also showing signs of following in his father’s musical footsteps.

‘Choked up’

In July 2022, Bublé shared a heartwarming social media clip of Noah playing his 2022 song, “I’ll Never Not Love You” on the piano.

While away on tour, the singer of “Save the Last Dance for Me” singer had no idea that Noah was preparing a special surprise for his return. The young pianist had been practising his father’s song, determined to impress his dad with a skill he had been working hard to perfect.

“More talent in his little fingers than I have in my whole body!!” Bublé captions the sweet clip, where he is seen, at times, overcome with emotions.

As the first few notes played, Bublé’s eyes widened in disbelief, and then, accompanied by his son who masterfully hit the keys of the piano, he sang the song for his followers, confessing that “I’m getting choked up.”

Sharing his reaction with his fans, the “It’s a Beautiful Day” singer writes, “Noah surprised me after I was away on tour,” he wrote. “He worked so hard to learn this song. So proud of my guy.”

2022 baby announcement

In the official video for “I’ll Never Not Love You,” the Grammy-winning singer and his wife recreate some of the most romantic scenes in cinematic history, including legendary sequences from films like The Notebook, Love Actually and Titanic.

At the end of the mini movie, the singer is seen meeting his three children and wife at the grocery store, where she reveals her baby bump, announcing their fourth child.
