Prince Harry did not want to be in same room as Camilla during recent London visit

It’s no secret that the royal family has had its share of drama over the past few weeks.

On January 16, Prince William’s wife Kate Middleton was hospitalized for a “planned” abdominal surgery and has since been recovering home. She is not expected to return to public duties until after Easter, and William even reportedly cleared his schedule to care for her.

This was soon followed by the shock news that King Charles III had been diagnosed with an unspecified form of cancer and was undergoing treatment.

Prince Harry visited King Charles

Despite minimal communication with the royal family since moving from the UK to California, Prince Harry wasted no time in responding to his father’s cancer diagnosis. However, he made the journey alone, without Meghan and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

A photograph captured Harry’s solitary arrival in a black SUV at the gates of Clarence House, which is King Charles’ London residence. Meghan’s absence from the trip was seen as a deliberate choice, with Grant Harrold – who had served King Charles for seven years when the monarch had been the Prince of Wales – suggesting that she believed it was something Harry needed to do alone.

“Meghan made the decision that it was best to stay home with the children, and maybe she feels that this is something Harry has got to do alone,” Grant told the New York Post.

Now, exactly what happened during that visit has been revealed by a source close to Queen Camilla.

Prince Harry’s tension with Queen Camilla

A British journalist recently provided insight into the intricate dynamics within the royal household, shedding light on some of the tensions and conflicts.

Prince Harry’s recent visit to his ailing father has sparked renewed discussions about the intricate web of relationships within the royal family, particularly concerning his stepmother, Queen Camilla. British journalist Petronella Wyatt, known for her connection to the Queen herself, shared her thoughts regarding Prince Harry’s recent interaction with the King.

Wyatt told the Telegraph that Prince Harry seemed reluctant to be in the presence of Queen Camilla during his conversation with the King about his cancer diagnosis. “Harry, I hear, preferred not to be in the same room with his stepmother when he spoke to the King about his cancer diagnosis,” Wyatt revealed, hinting at some underlying tension in their relationship.

Expressing confusion over Prince Harry’s apparent animosity towards Queen Camilla, Wyatt suggested that the Prince may have exhausted his list of family members, especially given his history of revealing family secrets and dropping bombshells.

In defense of Queen Camilla, Wyatt challenged Harry’s negative portrayal of her, which was evident in his memoir Spare. “To what has sometimes been her detriment, she is incapable of machinations of any kind,” she said.

In Spare, Prince Harry delved into his complex relationship with Queen Camilla. “I had complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who, I believed, had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar,” he wrote, suggesting that Queen Camilla had some involvement in spreading negative stories about him.

“For some time this person had been peddling unflattering stories, fake stories, about the Heir and the Spare to all the papers,” he added.

Harry also candidly shared the feelings he had when his childhood bedroom was transformed into the Queen’s dressing room, saying: “Camilla turned my bedroom into her dressing room. I tried not to care. But, especially the first time I saw it, I cared.”

Though, regardless of his feelings, Prince Harry has since said that he only wishes for his father to be happy with Camilla.
