Prince William

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, born on June 21, 1982 is the heir to the throne, and the eldest son of King Charles and Princess Diana. He is brother to the estranged Prince Harry, who left the royal family a few years ago.

William is known for his marriage to Kate Middleton, and his many causes including global warming, protecting the nature and fighting homelessness.

Prince William Early Life

Prince William was born at St. Mary’s in London to his mother, Princess Diana, and father, then-Prince Charles. The birth of their first son created a media frenzy worldwide, as he is the future heir to the throne.

While William and his brother, Prince Harry, are royal, their childhood differed a lot from generations before them. Their mother, Princess Diana, wanted her children to have as normal a childhood as possible, so she exposed them to the "normal" world. That included taking William and Harry to fast-food restaurants and even riding the subway. William has wanted to incorporate this into his own children's upbringing.

William received his education from private schools. He began at Jane Mynor's nursery school and later at the pre-preparatory Wetherby School in London. The young prince continued by attending Ludgrove School and got private tutoring lessons in the summer.

Between 1995 and 2000, William attended Eton College in Windsor. His brother, Prince Harry, attended the same school. Later the same year, William was accepted into St Andrew's University in Scotland but enrolled a year later after taking a gap year.

He graduated from the school with a degree in geography – next to his then-girlfriend, Kate Middleton

William married Kate Middleton in 2011, and the couple has welcomed three children: Prince George in 2013, Princess Charlotte in 2015, and Prince Louis in 2018. They lived at Kensington Palace at first but later moved to Adelaide Cottage at the Windsor grounds.

Does Prince William have a real last name?

Prince William Economy

Prince Harry and his brother Prince William both inherited money when their mother, Princess Diana, tragically passed away in 1997. The brothers were reportedly given approximately $10 million each after taxes. Exactly how much money William has to his name is hard to project.
However, when Queen Elizabeth passed away in 2022, William inherited the private Duchy of Cornwall Estate. According to The Guardian, it consists of 52,264 hectares, including farmland, residential and commercial properties, and a coastline. In 2022, it had an estimated worth of around $1.2 billion. Meanwhile, in 2023, the estate made around $30 million in income. The estate is solely for William and funds his and his family's lifestyle and charitable causes.
