4-year-old boy has no friends show up to birthday party after mom made vegan cake

It’s a nightmare scenario for any parent, organizing a birthday party for your child that no one attends.

We’ve covered a few such scenarios over the years, and they’re all equally horrid to write about. I mean, sure, there are worse fears for moms and dads out there to contend with, but just imagining the pain and sadness dealt unto a kid when none of their schoolmates and friends want to go to their party is a truly heartbreaking prospect.

Sadly, it’s the reality one mom is facing after her son’s schoolmates refused to attend his 4th birthday party because he is vegan!

As per reports, the tragic story comes from Queensland, Australia, where four-year-old Malachi is gearing up to ring in his fifth birthday.

Yet his ‘friends’ have snubbed the invitation, reportedly because Malachi’s mom, Angel Craine, made a vegan cake for his celebration.

Invites were handed out two weeks prior to Malachi’s party, but his mom received no RSVPs at all. Worse, it’s said Malachi has become a victim of bullying at his school over the vegan cake.

The vegan community is rallying around a four-year-old boy whose mum says got no RSVPs for his birthday party, because of his family’s lifestyle choice ❌🐮🎂 Full story: https://bit.ly/3tGF0Gh

Angel told 7News: “They’ve all bullied him and told him they aren’t coming unless he has cow in his cake.”

The mom explained that she had planned to make a chocolate vegan cake for Malachi’s birthday, which is set to be Pokémon-themed.

She added: “I just can’t get over that kids his age already bully vegans. [Malachi] was pretty sad that no one wants to be his friend or come but he’s pretty resilient.”

As per the Daily Mail, Malachi has been vegan since January, having always loved animals and trips to the local farm.

After receiving no replies to the party invites, Angel posted to the Vegans of Australia Facebook group seeking help.

“My four-year-old son seems to get bullied a lot for being vegan,” she wrote.

“Apparently none of his friends want to come to his birthday if he has a vegan cake and are always being rude about him being vegan all the time.

“So I’m wondering if there are any people around northside of Brisbane with vegan children that would like to come to his fifth birthday.”

Thankfully, the response to Angel’s post was positive, and at the time of writing 12 children of group members are scheduled to attend Malachi’s fifth birthday party.

“He’s super excited to make friends with similar interests and ethics,” Angel said.

I simply can’t fathom how people can be so cruel! What are the parents of these kids doing?
