Police have confirmed that TV actress Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson was a passenger inside a vehicle involved in a high-speed police chase on Tuesday.
According to reports, Thompson’s boyfriend Dralin Carswell – the driver of the vehicle – was arrested for DUI, fleeing police and having outstanding warrants.
Carswell, 21, led police on a three-mile chase in Monroe County, Georgia before he was eventually stopped and detained.

As per People, 17-year-old Thompson, who shot to fame on the popular TLC series Toddlers and Tiaras before going on to land her own show, Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, was a passenger in Carswell’s vehicle, but was not charged and is only a witness in the case.
The Reporter say that the incident played out at around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday after an officer ran a tag on Carswell’s Dodge Charger and realized that the owner of the car had an outstanding warrant.
When said officer attempted a traffic stop, the driver of the Charger sped off northward.
Authorities were eventually able to halt the vehicle via a precision immobilization technique (PIT), spinning the car and bringing it to a standstill.
The Reporter added that Carswell, who started dating Thompson two years ago, was arrested for DUI, fleeing, failing to maintain lanes, and following too closely. He was also hit with a speeding citation.
Another passenger in the vehicle, Julian Malik Divon Williams, was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
Relationship with Carswell
In an interview with Teen Vogue, Thompson, whose “Honey Boo Boo” persona divided opinion across the US and beyond, claimed that Carswell might be her “only friend” as she isn’t trusting of other people her age.
“To be honest, I do not have many friends. At all,” she told the magazine. “Because I feel like folks are so much like, ‘Oh, my God, I’m friends with Honey Boo Boo.”
Last year, Thompson said she had gotten backlash over her decision to date Carswell due to the age-difference between the pair.
Speaking to ET, the 17-year-old said: “In our relationship, the two most things that everybody is always talking about is our age gap and definitely because he’s Black and I’m white and we’re an interracial couple.”
She added: “I don’t care because, like, at the end of the day, my sister approves, his mom approves, and we’re happy, so what fans got to say or what haters got to say I don’t really care.”
