If you’re a parent, you know how time-consuming it is to clean up after kids. They’re messy and leaving their belongings everywhere—but that only makes us love them more!
Of course, part of growing up is learning how to clean up after yourself. Mom and dad aren’t going to be around to do that forever, and most people want to live in mostly clutter-free spaces. We learn how to organize and store our belongings and deep clean our homes. Kids grow up and become adults, and have kids of their own—and the cycle continues.
But if you want to make the task of cleaning after children a little easier, try the genius “toy jail” hack.
It’s very easy: if your kids leave their toys on the ground, pick them up and put them in a sealed box. But instead of being able to get their toys when they want, kids will have to do a chore to retrieve the toy they left on the ground. They will very quickly learn not to leave toys sitting on the floor if they don’t want to do chores!
