What does the shape of your thumb reveal about your personality?

It’s said there’s a strong link between our physical characteristics and the personality traits we have. Perhaps a link that as a species we don’t fully understand yet.

Nevertheless, our physical appearances and the shape of our bodies play a major role in how we perceive ourselves and thus how our personalities are formed. Therefore, many believe that physical traits can reveal a lot about who we are inside.

For example, did y know there are 5 different types of thumb, all of them varying in shape?

Take a look at your right thumb, what shape is it? Read on below to find out what it says about you…

Type 1 – A – Upper half larger than lower half

If you have this shape thumb, you’re likely someone who is ambitious. You don’t enjoy mediocrity and will always strive for the best. To aim for the stars is part of your personality – even when quiet, you’re thinking about how to achieve a goal.

Furthermore, you are someone who can become obsessed with targets. Your desire to succeed can be an intense driver, but you aren’t the type to boast if and when you are successful – you’re rather grateful and humble. It’s this combination of humility and willpower that makes you such a strong person.

Type 2 – B – Lower half larger than upper half

If your thumb is this shape, you’re a person who keeps their feet on the ground and is always humble. You are calm and confident, but most of all you’re caring.

You don’t promise big things without being sure you can deliver.

Your personality is also such that you enjoy the simple things in life. You find joy and peace in things others might believe to be mundane. You keep yourself well grounded and never forget to show your appreciation towards those who have helped you get where you are. You are therefore a person who is rich. Perhaps not in money, but certainly in love and friendship.

Type 3 – C – Both halves the same size

If your thumb fits into this category, you’re likely the sort of person who always strives for balance. You like to achieve harmony in your life and want to bring people together so your loved ones can be close too. Your personality is wired to look for equilibrium – anything less isn’t good enough.

You are strongly driven by a theory similar to that of ying and yang. In bad things you always try to find goodness. You’ll find something beautiful and despite any trouble you might face, you’ll always find a way to move forward. Through happiness, strife or calm, you’re the kind of person who aims for the sort of balance in life that many people envy. Your life is based on physical, spiritual and emotional harmony.

Type 4 – D – Flexible thumb

If you have a very flexible thumb, you’re the sort of person who is extremely good at adapting to different situations. You’re a survivor first and foremost and usually amongst the first to realize something has changed and you need to change with it.

This can also be applied mentally. You can accept new information and alter your opinion based on the new facts. You carry an open mind and change your attitude and behaviour when needed to achieve goals. This is a rare quality and offers you a greater chance of survival even in the most difficult of circumstances.

Type 5 – E – Set thumbs

Meanwhile, if you have immobile or stiff thumbs, you have a personality that is dominant and can be quite stubborn. You are someone who keeps their word and doesn’t break promises lightly. You are straight forward and don’t want to change that much in order to achieve your aims. If you fix your sights on something, it’s hard to sway you from your course.

Furthermore, you are the kind of person that can be trusted – both to listen and talk to. Your loyalty, like your personality, is admirable, and you are confident in your decisions. Your stubbornness could actually be seen as a blessing, because it means all of your ideas are well thought out.

Check your thumb and see which category you fall into. Did it work for you? I have to say, mine seemed pretty accurate.
