Inside Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck’s $61 million mansion, 12 bedrooms and 24 baths

After an almost two-year search, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck splurged nearly $61 million in cash for their dream mansion in Beverly Hills.

But with recent news of their separation, it’s worth revisiting their grand home purchase and what it signifies.

If you’ve been following the Ben Affleck/Jennifer Lopez story closely for the past few months you’ll likely feel a sense of relief that it’s finally come to what has long appeared to be its inevitable conclusion.

It hardly required the foresight of Nostradamus to predict that the popular union of ‘Bennifer’ was destined for a saddening end, and for most people it’s been a question of when, not if, divorce papers from either party would be filed.

But let’s rewind to a time before the negative headlines, lawyers, court papers, and heartbreak.

Jennifer Lopez, who officially tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022, then sought a new home to accommodate their blended family. Their new estate was designed to fit their five children from previous marriages: JLo’s 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max Muñiz, from her marriage to Marc Anthony, and Ben’s three kids, Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12, from his marriage to Jennifer Garner.

In the fall of 2022, Affleck sold his Pacific Palisades bachelor pad for $28.5 million, and Lopez sold her Bel-Air mansion for $42.5 million.

In May 2023, in a cash transaction, the Hollywood power couple handed over $60,850,000, negotiating $15 million below the $75 million asking price, to make their new home at the Wallingford Estate promontory in Beverly Hills.

It sounds like a lot, but they paid less than half the asking price in 2018, when the home, restored by the famed Los Angeles spec developer Gala Asher, was listed at $135 million.

Wasting no more time, Lopez and Affleck moved into their new home within a week of signing the papers, and their belongings, including furniture, paintings, rugs, and moving boxes, were seen stacked in the driveway.

The estate spans five acres and features 38,000 square feet of luxury, including 12 bedrooms, 24 bathrooms, a 155-foot infinity-edge pool, 15 fireplaces, and an impressive indoor sports facility.

A sports lover’s paradise, the facility features a boxing ring, a weights and cardio gym, where “Jenny from the Block” can get her full-body workout, basketball and pickleball courts, a glass viewing gallery, a sports bar with a video wall, and indoor and outdoor lounges with an expansive yard for luxurious events.

Parking is ample with a 10-car garage and space for an additional 80 cars.

The estate also includes a 5,000-square-foot guest penthouse, a caretaker’s house, and a two-bedroom guardhouse. The home, near the historic Beverly Hills Hotel, also has a full-service hair and nail salon, a home theater, wine cellar, whiskey lounge, and even sauna and massage rooms.

Despite this opulent lifestyle, the couple’s recent separation has brought their personal life into the spotlight. TMZ reported that Lopez and Affleck did not sign a prenuptial agreement, adding complexity to their split.

By the summer of 2024, Lopez and Affleck decided to list their lavish Beverly Hills mansion, setting the asking price at a staggering $68 million.

But rumors swirled about the estate’s actual value. According to an insider quoted by NewsNation, the mansion’s market worth might be closer to $40 to $50 million, suggesting that the glamorous price tag might be a bit too lofty.

“It’s in a terrible location. Wallingford Estates is a gated community with no guard. Most homes in the area are from the 1970s and are worth between $5-10 million … It’s garish, too big and dated with amenities that are just silly and not necessary,” the source told NewsNation.

As Bennifer navigate this new chapter, it’s clear their mansion remains a symbol of their once-blended family dream.
