Iran releases chilling video telling militants where to assassinate Melania Trump and a direct threat to Barron

Iranian state media releases chilling video telling ‘freedom fighters’ where and how to assassinate Melania Trump.

Iranian state media has published a disturbing video that instructs militants on where and how to assassinate Melania Trump, including specific locations she is known to visit in New York and suggestions for how to bypass her security detail.

The clip was released by the Tasnim News Agency, a publication associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. It opens with a graphic depicting the First Lady’s profile drawn in blood alongside the words:

“Where to kill Melania?!”

The video is subtitled in English

The video includes English subtitles and claims the Secret Service’s codename for Melania is “Muse.” It then identifies what it calls her biggest vulnerability, her love of fashion.

“Melania’s obsession with fashion has become her biggest weakness,” the video states, identifying luxury department stores on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan including Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue as locations that “could be suitable for operations by global freedom fighters.”

The clip goes on to explain how militants could identify signs that Melania is planning to visit these locations in advance, including public bins being removed from street corners and manhole covers being welded shut, so they can “be prepared for the operation.”

It also suggests paying store staff to poison her clothing with a nerve agent, and claims that offering stylists “large sums of money” could tempt them into assisting an assassination plot.

The video ends with a direct threat to the First Lady’s son:

“This is just the beginning. Barron Trump, wait for us.”

Tasnim claimed the information was compiled from anonymous security networks and satellite images, though it appears to be drawn entirely from publicly available sources.

The wider context of the video

The video is the latest in a series of escalating threats from Iran directed at the Trump family.

Days after the statewide funeral of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a US-Israeli drone strike earlier this year, a billboard showing Trump lying in a coffin was installed in Islamic Revolution Square in Tehran.

The US and Iran have been in active military conflict since February, when Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched a joint missile attack on Iran that escalated into a broader Middle East war.
