A small detail spotted during Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial has sparked a wave of anger online, with some trial watchers questioning the apparent joke attached to her wheelchair.
Clancy, a Massachusetts mother accused of killing her three young children, was seen with a pink sticker attached to the drink holder on her wheelchair. The holder was carrying a Diet Coke when the sticker was photographed Wednesday, September 2, as jurors continued deliberating.
The sticker read “#sidebah.”
The phrase appears to be a reference to the way Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, pronounces the word “sidebar” in his Boston accent.
It is unknown who put the sticker on Clancy’s wheelchair, so there is no confirmation that Clancy herself had anything to do with it. Still, the seemingly playful reference did not sit well with some people following the closely watched trial.
“#LindsayClancy has the audacity to put a ‘joke’ sticker ‘SideBah’ on her drink holder?!?!!! Does she think that’s all a joke?!” one person wrote on X.
Another commenter wrote: “The kids are in the ground and she thinks this is a damn joke ?? Tell me that’s not who she is.”

Clancy is accused of killing her three children – 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan – inside the family’s home in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
Prosecutors say she used exercise bands to kill the children before attempting to take her own life. Afterward, she slit her wrists and throat and jumped from the home’s second story, leaving her partially paralyzed.
Clancy has argued that she should not be held criminally responsible because she was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis when the killings occurred.

The controversy surrounding the sticker comes as the case reaches another major turning point.
After a week of deliberations, the judge declared a mistrial, meaning the jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict. The decision does not establish Clancy’s guilt or innocence.
